More than 30% of the Electrolysis cells have been constructed with a low-consumption design, while a new construction design is being tested on 29 additional cells with the aim of reducing electricity consumption per ton of aluminum produced. At the same time, based on the contract with General Electric (GE), the digitization of the Electrolysis process is underway at the 'Aluminum of Greece' plant. Efforts are also ongoing to reduce energy consumption outside production. The goal for 2024 is to implement ready digital solutions in 100% of the cells, extend the construction design to an additional 55 electrolysis cells, and carry out all investments and actions to save approximately 8,000 MWh annually compared to 2023.
Savings in electricity consumption of approximately 8,000 MWh annually compared to 2023.
