Objective Action

The multi-level CSR program "One more feat" is an action program of the HERACLES Group that essentially supports those in need but also all those who go beyond their limits every day. The integrated program integrates initiatives and actions to protect the environment, strengthen social groups, support the dreams of young people, care for vulnerable groups, strengthen public health and create value for all.

Target Audience

The HERAKLIS Group, through the integrated social contribution plan "One more feat", contributes to the development and evolution of modern Greece by supporting those in need, but also those who go beyond their limits every day. In particular, it supports the Paralympic athletes of the Greek Team, students from the University of Thessaly, health staff of the General Hospital of Volos, organizations that aim to strengthen the tradition and history of Volos, the local communities of Volos, North Euboea and the Municipality of Athens.

Duration

The actions started in 2021 and continue until today.

Description

For 110 years, the HERACLES Group, with respect for tradition and guided by its vision, continues to create, develop and pioneer, insisting on the values it has served for over a century.

It operates with respect for people and the environment, focusing on four strategic pillars: climate, circular economy, nature and local communities.

The Group is celebrating 110 years of history - a history that played a leading role in the development and evolution of modern Greece. Today, with a comprehensive social contribution plan, it essentially supports all those in need as well as all those who go beyond their limits every day. The methodical action of the HERACLIS Group concerns every key sector of Greek society.

The strength and perseverance of athletes with disabilities are an inspiration, which is why the Group became an Official Supporter of the Greek Paralympic Team and the Greek Paralympic Committee for the period 2021-2024. At the same time, it supported the athletes who participated in the Beijing 2022 Winter Paralympic Games and will support the athletes who will compete in the Tokyo Paralympic Games in the summer of 2022 as well as the Paris Paralympic Games in 2024.

Empowering young people is of crucial importance for the development of Greek society. That is why the Group stands by the students in order to achieve their dreams. The "Kentauros" Student Team of the University of Thessaly participated in the "Formula Student" global student car competition. The Group offered tools, mechanical and technological equipment, donated state-of-the-art computers and covered the cost of clothing for the 50 students who participated in the competition.

The action of the young people was expanded with the initiative of the students of the University of Thessaly, and specifically the Department of History, Archeology & Social Anthropology, to undertake the excavation in the port of ancient Sikyona, today Kiato Corinthia, in order to bring to light a church during the time of Justinian. The HERACLIS Group undertook the financial support of the effort, in order to contribute to the education of the next generations of archaeologists and also to highlight the richness of Greek history.

History and tradition were highlighted by other initiatives, which were strengthened by the HERACLES Group. Together with the culture organization of the Holy Metropolis of Dimitrias and Almyros "Magneton Kivotos" and A.O. Agrias "ATHLOS", the "Great Path of Pelion" was created. The historically important 160.8km hiking route highlights the beauties of the place, promotes small communities through the traditional products on offer and also helps to preserve the Thessalian heritage.

Supporting local communities is a priority area for HERACLES Group. In the summer of 2022, where the area of N. Evia was tested by the devastating fires and the beekeeping industry was significantly affected, the HERACLIS Group was instrumental in the recovery of the industry, supporting beekeepers, their families and important bee populations, contributing to preserving the biodiversity of the place. Through cooperation with the Beekeeping Cooperative of Istiaia "The Hive", 150 tons of bee food were offered for 6 months covering the needs of 20,000 bees.

At the same time, the HERACLIS Group supported the little heroes of everyday life as well as their parents and teachers in the Special Schools of Evia by upgrading their facilities and offering educational materials. At the same time, the HERACLIS Group supported the volunteers who care for more than 100 stray animals at the KYMA association of the Kymi-Aliveri region, through the provision of food, medicine and also building materials to improve the shelter's facilities.

On the health front, the HERAKLIS Group supported the daily struggle of the staff in the health structures, providing specialized medical equipment to the "Achillopoulio" General Hospital of Volos, upgrading the health infrastructure in the Magnesia Region.

Finally, the HERACLIS Group helped and supported the actions that took place to change the face of Athens. The Group, possessing know-how and environmentally friendly solutions, helped to complete an energy-efficient, green "pocket park" in Colonos. The offer included "green" concrete solutions, energy-efficient photovoltaic cells, innovative and underground irrigation systems as well as plants and trees that are ideal for urban space.

These feats are only the beginning and the "One more feat" program will have a long continuation. More information is presented at enasathlosakoma.gr.
