Objective Action


At Lidl Hellas we understand our role in society as active and participatory. That is why we work with recognized social partners, supporting our fellow human beings, as well as initiatives of organizations such as the ΔΙΚΤΥΟ and ΚΥΑΔΑ. Our goal is to actively shape processes and mobilize the social environment in action and participation. Thus, the corporate responsibility program of our company is framed by actions such as that of the Synergy of Supply and Love that prove that we are part of society and act with a sense of responsibility and empathy for the common good with the aim of ending hunger, achieving food security.

Description


Lidl Hellas, in collaboration with the Social Solidarity & Relief Network (ΔΙΚΤΥΟ) and the Reception & Solidarity Center of the Municipality of Athens (Κ.Υ.Α.Δ.Α) join forces for the common good and prove that solidarity is collective affair.Specifically, Lidl Hellas, in the context of its social work and its contribution to the activity of the Network, decided to donate long-lasting food, cleaning supplies, stationery, etc., with a total value of € 100,000, over a period of ten months, with the aim of extension of the action of the body in the Prefecture of Attica. The products will be received on a monthly basis by the Network from the company's warehouse in Kalivia, Attica and will be available to support the work of K.Y.D.A., specifically to meet the basic needs of 340 families living under the poverty line, but also the support of the multifunctional homeless center of the Municipality of Athens. Τhe action started in 2020, continued in 2021 and will also go on in 2022.

Impact on Society


The result of the action is the support of 340 families and the multifaceted homeless center of the Municipality of Athens who live on the edge of poverty with long-lasting products, cleaning supplies, stationery, etc., with a total value of € 200,000, over a period of 2 years. This is an action whose meaning acquires an even greater dimension in this period we are going through, since the pandemic has made everyone's daily life even more difficult and the need to support vulnerable social groups is more urgent than ever.
 



Initiative Location


The products are received from the company's Warehouse in Kalivia, Attica every month from the Network in order to transfer them to the Warehouse of Κ.Υ.Α.Δ.Α. and from there their distribution to 340 families, but also to the multi-purpose homeless center of the Municipality of Athens.
