J&P Avax is handling health and safety matters at project sites and the office buildings of the company through a complete certified management system of Health and Safety, complying with the OHSAS 18001:2007 certification. The Company’s policy is to provide and maintain safe working conditions for all activities at its worksites and installations with main interest in preventing and avoiding accidents which could be caused as a result of its activities, harming:
1. Its employees,
2. Employees of other companies involved in the projects it undertakes,
3. Third parties,
4. Equipment, facilities, materials, constructions, production and property,
5. The environment.
Staff of our group, collaborators and the communities where we have projects.
Since 2009
To achieve this aim, J&P-AVAX SA is constantly implementing and developing a Safety Management System, with the purpose of:
• Recognising, assessing and controlling risks in the framework of its activities.
• Recognising, codifying, evaluating and satisfying all safety requirements.
• Developing a safety organisation with clear responsibilities and obligations at every level of the company.
• Staffing worksites with the necessary specialist safety personnel.
• Determining safety obligations for each of its subcontractors and evaluating them.
• Training its employees.
• Constantly monitoring the level of safety and evaluating it with effective procedures.
• Recording, systematising and transferring safety know-how from project to project so that the Company can learn and constantly improve.
The development of the above Safety Management System on the basis of the International Standard makes it possible to immediately access and adapt to legislative and other requirements in each region within and outside Greece where the Company undertakes and executes projects. J&P-ΑVAX SA is supported in this endeavour by the Quality, Safety & Environmental Department and CSR. In the framework of its commitment to improve safety, the management of J&P-AVAX SA is making available all the necessary funds, and believes that all its employees will conscientiously and effectively take their share of responsibility in the joint effort to prevent accidents. Exactly the same is expected of its subcontractors and consultant companies and their employees.
Prevention and avoidance of accidents based on:
• The continuous monitoring, recording and statistical analysis of accidents in the whole range of the company's activities inside and outside the Greek borders.
• The investigation and analysis of the causes which led to casualties with appropriate corrective action to prevent recurrences.
• Appropriate structure based on specialized studies (Risk Assessments) to gain a comprehensive view and control any level of risk.
• Compliance to current law provisions.
• Establishing on annual basis indicators that allow us to evaluate our systems.
Our main aim is “Zero Accidents”.
Occupational Doctors: In collaboration with specialized occupational doctors in all our projects and our headquarters we comply in accordance with the Legislation Health Record for each employee. Furthermore, the company provides medical coverage through insurance plans to its employees.
Accidents: Continuous monitoring, recording and statistical analysis of accidents in the whole range of the company's activities at home and abroad aiming:
1. The investigation and analysis of the reasons so that with the appropriate corrective action to prevent recurrences.
2. Removing risk.

The Safety Policy Statement is notified to workers and third parties:
• Through the Health and Safety manual that is posted on the company’s Intranet.
• By being posted in visible areas of its sites and facilities.
• By being delivered to the worker upon engagement.

• Through safety awareness programmes for employees.
