i.active CARGO serves the fundamental needs for the enhancement of the urban environment and improvement of the ambience in terms of gas emissions. Thanks to its photocatalytic properties, an environmental friendly solution is available based on sustainability and durability of the product.
The project started in the beginning of 2014 and finished at the end of October 2014. Halyps Building Materials S.A supplied them 13tn of i.active CARGO. The re-surfacing area was approximately 5,000 m2 and the distance covered was 1km. Due to its slurry form and high workability, i.active CARGO enchanted the technical company that used it. At the same time, local community was also fascinated by its form since a new material was used for the percolation of the road, but mainly by the long-term impact to their life due to the depolluting performance of it.
Undoubtedly, the impact for the local community is substantial in terms of an upgraded ambience to the area, improvement of the air quality and more comfortable way of living. Laboratory analysis proved that covering roughly 15% of the surfaces inside a big city with photocatalytic products will allow to reduce up to 50% the pollutants in the air.

This project was the very first paving application with the photocatalytic technology of Italcementi Group. Moreover, the marketing image of our company is strengthening through the projection of these works.
Client purchased the quantity directly from our cement plant with its own trucks. As usual, all the safety procedures were followed at client’s visit to our facilities.
The endorsement of brand awareness of i.active CARGO is inevitable. At the same time, Halyps gains “points” from the sustainable point of view through the depolluting and smog-eating performance.
