The volunteer team of the company called “Ikaros” held free medical examinations to the elderly people of our local community. One of ikaros members came into contact with the Aspropyrgos Residents Club in order the latter to inform about this action. The people responded to that call were at the age between 65 and 85. The medical examinations included audiometry, respiratory and cardiac. At the beginning of 2014, Ikaros team held a charity football match with a local football team. The proceeds from the football game were given to “MITERA” Infants Center so as to buy heating oil. Later, on the occasion of the Easter Holiday, Ikaros team offered them candles and Easter eggs. This action was warmly welcomed both by the children and the personnel of “MITERA” Infants Center. During the 2nd quarter of 2014, Ikaros voluntary team took the initiative to make a food supplies bank. Many employees responded to that call and offered food supplies. One of its members came into contact with local social bodies in order to be informed about families struggling to buy food or pay their bills. The food supplies collected were offered to 7 families, some of whom were with many children, from our local areas. Following the initiative taken at a European level as far as reducing littering in nature, Ikaros voluntary team adopted it in a local level. Ikaros team identified a place in our local coastal area and took action on the 16th May.
