For Lamda Development, the business activity of a company has as its starting point the contribution to the social cohesion and progress of the country where it operates, in order to be able to continue operating seamlessly in the environment it has chosen to develop. The Company adheres to its ethical commitments regarding transparency, quality of services, the defense of human rights, the protection of the environment and the preservation of cultural heritage, which are also the basic principles of Corporate Responsibility.
In this context, numerous synergies of Golden Hall Shopping Centers, The Mall Athens, Mediterranean Cosmos and Marina Flisvos are carried out with Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and bodies that stand out for their work. In this way, the cooperating agencies are given the opportunity to be accommodated in the common areas of the Company's commercial developments and to communicate their work to the 25,000,000 visitors per year. In total and until the year 2020, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO) support programs were implemented in The Mall Athens, Golden Hall and Mediterranean Cosmos shopping centers.
In addition, throughout the duration of the COVID-19 pandemic in Greece, Lamda Development, in collaboration with many government agencies and ministries, implemented a series of actions to support society as a whole and normalize the consequences of the health crisis. Specifically:
Elliniko Vaccination Center: Lamda Development sided with the State, agreeing - as a preferred investor for the acquisition of 100% of the share capital of ELLINIKO S.A. - to make the property of the Olympic Fencing Center available to the competent bodies for the acceleration of vaccination program of the country.
Donation of technological equipment for distance learning: In collaboration with the Ministry of Education, and in the context of the national effort to manage the challenges created by the health crisis in Education, Lamda Development proceeded to donate tablet-type devices to the Ministry of Education, which were then channeled to primary and secondary education units of the country.
Donation to the NHS: Wishing to contribute to the national effort to deal with the pandemic crisis, Lamda Development and its shopping centers The Mall Athens and Golden Hall in Athens and Mediterranean Cosmos in Thessaloniki proceeded to donate a significant amount of money to immediately cover needs of the National Health System.
Measures to support tenants in shopping centers: Lamda Development has essentially stood by its partners, proceeding with a 70% rent reduction in its shopping centers for the months of April and May 2020, in addition to the statutory reduction of 40%.
Finally, an important part of Lamda Development's business activity is the implementation of strategies and practices that meet the needs of society and create value for society and the market. In this context, based on its design for the emblematic investment of Hellinikon, Lamda Development is launching investments of 390 - 480 million euros for infrastructure projects, road network projects and public utility projects. The first tenders are immediately expected with the aim of awarding the contracts in the first quarter of 2022. At the same time, tenders are being planned for the network of sewage treatment and water resources management facilities, a pioneering project which, in addition to meeting the irrigation needs of the Metropolitan Park of Hellinikon, aspires to offer significant quantities of water for the respective needs of the neighboring municipalities of the project as well as various other regions of Attica. Lamda Development's main priority for Elliniko is to proceed with a standard urban regeneration, which will respect the urban planning and environmental balance, will spread its benefits to wider areas of the Attica Basin and will be characterized by multi-collegibility by forming public utility infrastructures open to all the residents.
