Objective Action
This initiative by INTERSPORT, a Fourlis Group company, confirms its commitment to focus on promoting sustainability and protecting the environment. Through this initiative, the company aims to contribute to saving resources and energy, but also to reducing the amount of waste as well as raising awareness among customers and the general public on responsible consumption and environmental protection.

Description
In the action "Running with your Heart?" You recycle with passion at INTERSPORT!", a collection of old shoes was carried out for the purpose of recycling them, while the participants enjoyed a 20% discount for the purchase of new sports running shoes. Specifically, in 2024 the action took place throughout Greece, Cyprus, Bulgaria, and Romania in physical and it was promoted by the online stores. After the required cleaning and sterilization process, a quantity of the old shoes was properly processed to be used as raw material.

Impact on Society
More than 5.2 tons of shoes were collected in Greece and more than 6 tons in total in all the countries where the action took place. In addition, on this action and as an additional return benefit to society, INTERSPORT covered the needs of children from the SOS Children's Villages, providing 180 new pairs of shoes ahead of Easter.
Initiative Location
The action was implemented in March 2024 and customers could recycle their old sports shoes in special recycling bins inside INTERSPORT stores, in all the countries of operation.

Working with Organization
The action was implemented in Greece in collaboration with RECYCOM, which received, counted, and processed the recycled shoes. In addition, the transport company DELATOLAS undertook the logistics of the large volume of recycled shoes to RECYCOM. In Cyprus, the action was carried out with Anacyclos Perivallontiki, while in Romania and Bulgaria by TEXCYCLE.
