Our environmental approach
We aim for a balanced and responsible economic development, fully harmonised with the protection of the environment. We monitor energy use and reduce consumption. We take care of the efficient use of natural resources, while reducing our environmental footprint.
We apply the internationally recognized ISO 14001 environmental management system in order to fully certify each activity of our company.
In addition, we have recently been certified with the Energy Management System in accordance with the international ISO 50001 standard. This certification confirms our commitment to continuously improving energy performance across our activities and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
One of the important components is the most efficient use of resources. We systematically monitor our environmental performance and set measurable environmental goals.
We train our emploees and implement specific policies and programs in order to achieve a reduction in our environmental impact .
In addition, we reduce our energy footprint by ensuring Guarantees of Origin from Renewable Energy - Greenpass. Thus, PPC SA asserts that for the Electricity consumed by our company at its premises, equal energy has been generated from its Hydroelectric Stations and has been committed through the National Electricity Market Support Officer.
As part of our environmental policy, we keep our commitment to proper collection and recovery of our waste, applying, on a large scale, management and disposal practices. The production processes of our industrial plant produce waste that is separated and received by appropriately licensed professionals for overall management. Waste separation is carried out during production in order to achieve a high level of recycling and recovery. Recyclable and non-recyclable materials are segregated and placed on specific bins used by partner companies.
The following table presents the categories of material separation, and their method of disposal.
