a. 2016. Cooperation with the Medical School of the University of Crete, most specifically, with the Pathology - Oncology Clinic and the Department of Social Medicine (Laboratory of Biomedicine) and Professor Dr. Ch. Lioni, with the aim of creating a Cancer Registration Centre. The Centre is housed in the Department of Social Medicine of the University of Crete and continues its collaboration with the Clinic of Social and Family Medicine of the Department of Medicine. This cooperation has a developmental and research character, with the central goal of collecting, recording, and analysing data related to patients suffering from or who have died of cancer in the Region of Crete. The Centre has obtained license to establish and operate a File with sensitive data from the Hellenic Data Protection Authority. (Prot. No. ΓΝ / ΕΙΣ / 516126-6-2008).
b. 2017. Collaboration with the Foundation for Research and Technology - Hellas in Crete, for the Digitization of the Driving Licenses Registers in Crete and the development of new innovative IT applications for Citizens. As a result of this collaboration, a pioneering digital platform was created; The platform integrates a set of services and applications aiming at the digital transformation of the Organization, while addressing important operational problems such as low levels of service, lack of trust and transparency issues. For its implementation, international best practices focused on users themselves (user-centred development), contemporary analysis methodologies on requirements and design have been applied, such as Co-Design and flexible software development methodologies (Agile Software Development). Available applications and services include: Electronic services for citizens, Internet portal http://gdme.crete.gov.gr/, available for PCs and mobile devices, which offers comprehensive information on procedures, forms and supporting documents required for the completion of procedures provided by the Department of Transport and Communications, Appointment Service, Smart Queue for citizens without an appointment. The system supports printing of personalized coupons from the department's mailboxes, Management Applications and Back-Office, Case Management System), Business Intelligence, Statistics for Directors and Heads of Departments, Waiting Area Alert Screens, Physical Files Monitoring and Assignment System, Management System, Content Management System.
c. 2018. Co-operation with the Technical University of Crete and the School of Mineral Resources Engineering, for the design, development, operation, and maintenance of the Geographical Information System (GIS). http://senselab.tucserv.tuc.gr/
d. 2019. Co-operation with the former Ministry of Administrative Re-organization and e-Government, (now the Ministry of the Interior), the Directorate-General for Innovation, within the framework of the European Code Week (Codeweek.eu) as well as with the National Library of Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Centre (SNFCC). On the SNFCC premises, computer science teachers and students aged 8-12 had the opportunity to be trained and work in programming and in the Java language, through the Alice Programming Environment, in the framework of the action "let's code boys & girls" for six (6) months. The action resulted in the program "Code my City”, embedding one hundred (100) lines of code, which presented their city and was posted on the Websites of the advertised Municipalities, https://smartcity.heraklion.gr/el/irakleio-code-my-city -introduce-my-city /. The “top moment” for that specific programme has been the statement of a couple of parents, working as doctors who publicly confessed that such actions justify the decision, they have made not to leave Greece to work abroad.
e. 2019-2020. Co-operation with the Regional Directorate for Education of Crete for the provision of Management and Organizational Culture seminars, to the Directorates of Primary Education of the Prefectures of Crete, on behalf of the Region of Crete. Such cooperation aims at the training of leaders of Primary education, with a view to strengthening their leadership skills for their co-operation with the school community, parents & guardians’ associations, institutions and schoolchildren. It aims at the thorough experiential analysis of what we call "Organizational Culture in School Units" and includes the thematic axes of Teamwork, Communication, Systematic Decision Making, Job Distribution, Assignment, Coaching, Feedback, and Integrity through Strategic Planning tools, such as SWOT Analysis, the Systematic Management Cycle, and simple Decision Making, Job Sharing and Project Management models. Above all, however, it aims at rationality, so that the Principals of School Units can acquire "common language, methodology & rationality", to solve any of their problems in a consistent manner.
