Objective Action

Information on the UNESCO City Networks for the achievement of social cohesion, the improvement of the quality of life and thus the achievement of the sustainable development of the societies and civil society by utilizing all the productive potential and the empowerment of all citizens, especially the vulnerable social groups (young people, immigrants, refugees, minorities, women, etc.).

Greece can benefit in many ways from the utilization of innovative practices, methodologies and policies, which have emerged from the bottom (bottom up procedures) at the level of municipalities that have joined these UNESCO Global Networks.

 

Target Audience

All 42 trainees in the 2021 internship of the UNESCO Chair of Intercultural Policy for an Active Citizeship and Solidarity of the University of Macedonia (total 42) and the impact and dissemination of ideas in the civil society via the youtube channel and website of the UNESCO Chair.

 

Duration

April 2021 - May 2022.


Description

Participation of the Chair together with other 3 Chairs in the Mil Clicks Network, and in a series of Seminars organized by the Milid Universities Network for the Management of Covid-19 on the topic: "GLOBAL CITIZENSHIP EDUCATION AND INTERCULTURAL DIALOGUE", August 4-6. Presentation of the Headmistress, Ms. D. Anagnostopoulou, in the webinar series of Media and Information Literacy and Intercultural Dialogue University Network's Response to COVID-19 on: "When global citizens face a global crisis: linking up solutions for deeper changes" , on August 6, 2020.

Case study of "Learning Cities": Larissa and Corinth
Attendance of the day in co-organization of Larissa and Corinth entitled: "Local Government and lifelong learning: The contribution of Learning Cities", on January 24, 2022, held in the context of the International Education Day and the celebration of 70 years from the founding of the UNESCO Lifelong Learning Institute (UNESCO), based in Hamburg, Germany and coordinating the Global Network of Learning Cities.
Development of a collaboration with Professor CHIBÁS ORTIZ, F., Responsible Professor at the University of San Paolo, at the invitation of a Chair's research as part of its research on the UNESCO Program "Media and Information Literacy Cities". The Professor has studied and written the 13 Indicators (Metrics) for the integration in the Network "MIL University City":
Participation of the trainees of the Chair in the Internship 2020-21 in the research "Media and Information Literacy Alliance" for the freedom of expression of citizens in our country, May 2021.

Participation of the trainees in the Internship 2020-21 in the research of Professor Felipe Ortiz for the program "Worldwide network of MIL Cities" (MIL Questionnaire 2020), May 2021.

Study of the Global Framework for MIL Cities and study of the 13 Indicators of Professor CHIBÁS ORTIZ for the integration in the Network "MIL University City"

2. Participation of the Chair with an Online Presentation of its Director in the "Global Media and Information Literacy (MIL) Week 2021 Feature Conference" of UNESCO entitled: "MEDIA AND INFORMATION LITERACY FOR THE PUBLIC GOOD", on October 27, 2021 in the context of the parallel session "Media and information literacy for global citizenship and addressing digital transformation".

3. Collaboration with the University of Sao Paulo and Professor CHIBÁS ORTIZ, F, with suggestions and writing an article on: "European Policies for Strenghtening the Role of Cities

3. From January 2022 until today, a group of former trainees that operates to this day prepared a proposal to become the University of Macedonia Media and Information Literacy University and Thessaloniki Media and Information Literacy City.
