Objective Action

With the aim of strengthening the connection between technical education and the real needs of modern industry, Elval entered into a memorandum of cooperation with the Public Employment Service, paving the way for the technicians of tomorrow. The collaboration also aims to boost local employment through targeted technical training and hands-on experience under real working conditions, within a safe and modern work environment.

From the new school year, the Vocational Apprenticeship School (EPAS) of DYPA in Chalkida will offer the new specialization ‘CNC Machine Tool Technician,’ combining classroom instruction with paid, insured practical training inside Elval’s state-of-the-art industrial facility. The new specialization is aimed at young people up to 29 years old who have completed at least lower secondary school, and DYPA offers:

• Free tuition for 2 years (4 semesters)

• Paid and insured apprenticeship (€125–€156 per week for 4–5 days of apprenticeship)

• Housing allowance up to €240 per month and meal allowance of €9 per day (with expanded income criteria)

• Student leave and the possibility of postponing military service.

In addition, Elval provides:

• Voucher cards

• Daily meals

• Free transportation to and from the plant in Oinofyta with company vehicles.

Working with Organization

The Public Employment Organization is the official public authority and central structure managing a wide range of policies and actions for the benefit of the citizens. It is a legal entity of public law, based in Athens, and it is supervised by the Hellenic Ministry of Labour, Social Insurance, and Welfare.

DYPA is a central pillar of the welfare state and an operational arm for the fight against unemployment. The main actions of DYPA focus on supporting and strengthening the workforce through the promotion of employment, unemployment insurance, social protection of motherhood and family, vocational education and training, but also on other social policy actions aimed at improving the livelihoods of the workforce.
