Dairy Farmers / Milk Producers
The program concerns a continuous action of DELTA.
As part of the GAIA action plan, DELTA promotes modern sustainable farming practices with the aim of linking applied research with the production process.
In this direction, we are implementing pilot programs of applied research on alternative efficient crops for the production of animal feed with high nutritional value, in collaboration with the Agricultural University of Athens and ELGO-DIMITRA. Additionally, in collaboration with the American Farm School of Thessaloniki, we conduct training programs for farmers on good farming practices, ensuring milk quality, and the health and welfare of livestock.
On an annual basis, the following is undertaken:
• Educational seminars on animal welfare, productivity increase, and environmental protection through proper farm management.
• Pilot cultivation of alternative animal feeds to reduce imported soy.
• Scholarships for young farmers in collaboration with the American Farm School of Thessaloniki, aimed at specialized and hands-on training of young farmers to improve the sustainability of the businesses they work in.
Implementation across all areas of operation within Greece.
These programs are carried out in collaboration with our country's universities and research institutions, such as the Agricultural University of Athens, the American Farm School, and ELGO DIMITRA.
• Enhancement of the professional skills of our collaborating producers
• DELTA's contribution to the development of innovative solutions for sustainable farming
• Strengthening DELTA’s market position and competitiveness
