Our company’s contribution against the COVID 19 crisis
- Supporting the National Health System
The pandemic was both an asymmetric and unpredictable threat to humanity, strongly affecting people’s lives. With the sense of responsibility towards that Greece got through and the entire world, our company proceeded with a donation of 1.000.000 euros.
More specifically, the company undertook to strengthen the capacity of Intensive Care Units (ICUs) to a percentage of 60% in the hospitals of the cities where its production units are located (Larissa, Trikala, Xanthi). For this purpose, 20 fully equipped ICUs were allocated as follows:
- 6 ICUs at University General Hospital of Larissa
- 6 ICUs at General Hospital of Trikala
- 5 ICUs at General Hospital of Larissa
- 3 ICUs at General Hospital of Xanthi
In addition, the company stood by the medical nursing staff, the people on the front line, meeting the needs of the reference Hospital of Larissa with OLYMPOS dairy products. At the same time, donated 6.000 protective masks to the General Hospitals of Trikala and Larissa.
Finally, the company positively responded to a request from General Hospital of Trikala for the purchase of blood gas analysis cassettes due to pandemic crisis.
- Supporting «Help at Home Plus» Program of the Municipality of Athens
The company be aware of the duty of solidarity towards society supported the “Help at Home Plus” program of the Municipality of Athens. In collaboration with the Municipality, the company donated dairy products and juices which covered the needs of 5.000 families, cared for by the Reception and Solidarity Center of the Municipality during the pandemic.
- Donation of 100 tablets for remote education of students in islands and unapproachable areas
The company being aware of the difficulties that many students faced due to COVID-19 at remote areas, donated technological equipment for their education. Responding to the open call of Greek Ministry of Education, OLYMPOS donated 100 tablets supporting the remote education.
The company is presented in each need of society:
Seeking to be next to our society in each difficult condition, our company always stand by the national organizations and the efforts that they make to deal with dangerous phenomena such as fires and severe weather conditions (snowfalls, earthquakes etc.). In these terms, the company proceeded to provide sponsorships to them in order to support their work.
Characteristic examples are the help to those affected by the earthquake in Alkalochori of Herakleion and Elassona, providing them with products. Furthermore, we supported organizations like @act4mati, @act4evoia, @act4peloponnese, @oallosanthropos who provided help to all those were affected by fires. OLYMPUS through the consumer line helped the citizens to send products easier το fellowmen. In July 2022, OLYMPUS helped the people who suffered from the fire that broke out at Penteli of Attica. Finally, at the same year, with the contribution of our employees, we collected clothing, medicines and first aid goods for the citizens of Ukraine.
Helping fire- stricken animals:
Our respect and love for animals are an integral part of our philosophy. Our company was on the side of the Municipalities of Athens, Dionysos, Acharnes, Istiaia, and Mantoudi that hosted and cared the animals during the fires, offering them the necessary veterinary medical treatment, food and equipment for their veterinary clinics.
