The Municipality of Trikala is a municipality of Thessaly region based in Trikala.

The goal is the bodily and mental relief of people suffering from the long-lasting war adventure in the Near and Middle East.
The action was aimed at refugee-immigrant groups.
During the first influx, and because of the urgency of the matter, the action took place rather hastily in the Indoor Basketball court of “Bara” in Trikala, but it was designed so as to offer basic coverage of the primary needs of the refugees in a peaceful, to say the least, environment, overcoming any ethnic differences among groups coming from different countries (Syrians, Afghans, Iraqis and Kurds) which was achieved through the coordination of specialized associates, such as translators, who helped with communication with the Volunteer Group and with each other.
During the period of the second influx of refugees, the selected place (the Fortress in Trikala), was infinitely better in terms of basic facilities, sanitation, food and even entertainment. The coordination of our team concerning the actions of our fellow volunteers and the needs of the refugees as well as any problems encountered had the corroboration of the satisfaction of the Refugees, which was turned into a specific number of refugees remaining in our city, a continued communication with volunteers, several thank you messages to the present day, thanks to the social media, etc.
Both of the two refugees-immigrants waves, the total number of the peoples were hosted were more than 400 persons.
The voluntary action evolved in two parts of the city, the Sports Hall of the City and the Medieval Fortress.

The number of active volunteers exceeded 150.
The active involvement of more than 150 volunteers for the confrontation of the refugee issue in local level, in one hand strengthen the volunteers term and their role, and in the other hand helped the better desing of the confrontation of one humanitarian crisis.
