On the occasion of the celebration of IASO's 25th anniversary and within the framework of the integrated Corporate Social Responsibility program "next to you", IASO Group adopted the Voluntary Non-Profit Organization for the Care and Protection of Mothers and Children "The Ark of the World". The IASO Group has always been a supporter of the Ark and contributes to the work of Father Antonio, embracing this large family of 400 children and their families and taking a more essential role in the work of the Ark for the healing of childhood wounds. Also, the collaboration is expanding in Central Greece for the provision of high quality health services by IASO Thessaly for the Volos branch.
The IASO Group has always been a supporter of the Ark and contributes to the work of Father Antonio. We offer free covid-19 tests for the whole year to the staff of the three structures in Athens and 200 covid-19 tests have already been carried out.
For 2021, indicatively, the following were carried out:
- free hydronephrosis surgery
- free strabismus surgery
- surgical opening to remove earring clasp
- Diagnostic tests: Brain MRI, Encephalogram
- free preventive examinations with Pediatric ENT, Pediatric Ophthalmologist and Pediatric Cardiologist for 12 children of the structures
- free medical examinations (gastroenterological examination, examination by an endocrinologist, examination by a neurologist, examinations by a developmental specialist, examinations by pediatricians, etc.)
- 300 covid tests for the staff of the structures for the whole year
- the needs of the structures with children's masks of high protection and antiseptics
We also continue to provide high quality health services with free surgeries, free examinations and free visits to the children of Kivotos, so that their health is in the best hands of IASO Children!

In a meeting held at the Children's Hospitality House, in the area of Kolonos, on Tuesday, June 8, 2021, between Mr. Father Antonious, of elder Stamatia Georgantis, of Dr. Georgios Stamatiou, Chairman of the Board of Directors of IASO Group and Christina Tabourea, CCO of IASO Group, had the opportunity to discuss the important work that the Ark of the World offers throughout Greece as well as meeting the needs of children in health issues they face.
Father Antonios, founder of the Ark of the World, pointed out that: "The collaboration with IASO is very important. Imagine that we are talking about hundreds of children - apart from the other 400 who are single-parent families and are from outside - for whom we take care of their medical care through volunteerism and the cooperation we have with people who support us in this part, such as IASO, with whom we have had this dear collaboration since 2015. IASO takes care of our children, essentially covering a very large expense, if one includes it in the upbringing of the children. Recently, through IASO, all molecular tests are done on our staff and children. It is a very big help. But also in Volos there is the corresponding unit of IASO where we will be served there as well.
Kivotos tou Kosmos currently hosts around 400 children throughout Greece. We have guest houses in Attica, Kalamata, Epirus, Volos, Chios, while we have the only children's center in the North Aegean, as we host children from Lemnos to Rhodes.
What we offer to children is primarily the treatment of mental trauma and then hospitality, with all that this entails in the upbringing of a child. We manage to help these children through the fostering we practice to find the exclusivity of the parent, dad and mom. In the other cases, in the older children, we raise them until they reach adulthood so that they can then study and leave through the Ark and our Agricultural schools and continue either as young farmers or through universities, depending on their level."
Dr. Georgios Stamatiou, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the IASO Group stated that: "With the 25 years of operation that IASO closed this year, we decided to adopt the Ark of the World. Although we have a partnership since 2015, today we said that with the closing of 25 years of IASO, we are taking over everything related to the provision of health services to the IASO Group: examinations, surgeries, we cover the children basically. Also, with the covid-19 tests over the past year, we met all the needs of the Ark of the World, and of the children and staff of the three structures in Athens, where 200 covid-19 tests have already been carried out. As Father Antonios told us, it has now spread throughout Greece. One of these areas is Dimini in Volos. It has two structures and there our affinity is IASO Thessaly, which covers the wider area of Thessaly, so we will cover the Ark's needs there as well."
Ms. Christina Tabourea, CCO of the IASO Group stated that: "With the multi-awarded corporate social responsibility program, "next to you", we support more than 25 Non-Profit Organizations. We stand by them, in all their health needs. We are next to the children, the mothers, the families.
