ELIX is promoting voluntary service and education since 1987, realizing international voluntary actions, for the protection of the environment and our cultural heritage, intercultural exchanges and social service projects.

a. To provide pedagogical and recreational activities to children aged 6-12 in the summer months.
b. To offer children the opportunity to experience a unique creative program during the summer, in the familiar and intimate space of the school.
c. To support working parents and families who are experiencing financial difficulties during the summer months and cannot offer daily way out to their children.
The target audience are children aged 6 to 12 who live in Athens, Aspropyrgos, Elefsina, Mandra, Marousi and Piraeus.
Ongoing since April 2012.
The activities offer pedagogical and recreational activities to primary school children during the summer months in the school setting. Through an array of creative activities, children develop participation and communication skills with volunteers from all over the world in an experiential way. The daily activities include theatrical play, art workshops, music making, dancing, team games and sports activities in the courtyard of school. Children experience their school in a very different and more open context, reconstruct the conventional image of the school and strengthen their relationships with smaller and older children as well as with young people from different nationalities in a climate of cooperation, equality and acceptance. Each action is carried out by experienced pedagogues and with the valuable participation of young volunteers from around the world.
Primary schools in Athens, Aspropyrgos, Elefsina, Mandra, Maroussi, Piraeus and Zografou
The action is implemented by the ELIX office management team with 4 permanent staff. Seasonally are employed experienced pedagogues, field coordinators and team leaders.
