Description

ELLA Resorts implements an integrated framework for sustainability and environmental and climate management, which is embedded in the planning, renovation and operation of its hotel units. The approach focuses on the systematic improvement of environmental performance, the reduction of environmental impacts and the effective management of energy, resources and greenhouse gas emissions.

The framework is supported by internationally recognised standards and certifications, including ISO 14001, ISO 50001, ISO 14064-1, BREEAM and LEED, as well as systematic monitoring of environmental indicators, energy performance, emissions and environmental risks.

ELLA Resorts’ approach includes:

• integrating sustainability into the planning, renovation and operation of its hotel units;
• developing and implementing environmental and energy management systems;
• monitoring Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions and progressively expanding emissions measurement and verification to Scope 3;
• setting and monitoring measurable environmental targets;
• using internationally recognised certifications and standards as tools for continuous improvement.

A distinctive feature of the practice is the combination of certifications, environmental and energy management systems, KPI monitoring and investments in green infrastructure with the continuous improvement of the environmental performance of the hotel units. Relevant environmental and climate-related matters are managed through the existing governance framework and the responsible functions and departments of the company.
