SANI/IKOS

The Sani/Ikos Group, a leading Mediterranean hotel group in the field of luxury tourism, has always been a leader in sustainable tourism in the region, having developed a comprehensive strategy and ESG programs, and is a member of the United Nations Global Compact for Business. Through its brands, Sani Resort and Ikos Resorts, the group with the Greek DNA, currently operates 12 privately owned seaside resorts in Greece and Spain, which have received significant distinctions for their environmental initiatives and social actions.

The Group's sustainability programs, Sani Green and Ikos Green, focus on three main pillars: the sustainable operation of its hotels through the principles of climate neutrality, circular economy and protection of local ecosystems, its positive impact on society with equal opportunities at work and practical support to local communities, and the strengthening of the economy by creating jobs and supporting local production.

All resorts of the Sani/Ikos Group are carbon neutral and electrified with energy from 100% renewable sources of guaranteed origin, and have received international environmental certifications (ISO 14001:2015, ISO 50001:2018, ISO 14064) and awards. The Group has set a target of zero carbon emissions by 2030 – 20 years ahead of the corresponding European target – through significant investments in RES, energy saving systems, electrification of facilities and vehicle fleet, as well as certification of all new building units, as well as renovations with LEED or BREEAM in the highest energy class.

The Group's sustainability strategy also includes initiatives to eliminate single-use plastics and produce zero waste for landfill by the end of 2024, such as artificial intelligence applications to reduce food waste, infrastructure for grey water recycling, composting of organic waste, and more than 20 recycling programs for all types of materials.  among other initiatives.

The Group also collaborates with scientific institutes and NGOs for the protection of important Mediterranean ecosystems, such as coastal forests and wetlands, dolphin populations and bee colonies, while it has developed ecological activities and information programs for its visitors. Beyond the environment, the Sani/Ikos Group undertakes important initiatives to strengthen society, the economy and its people. Every year it supports the work of more than 40 associations and institutions, such as schools and hospitals, focusing on children, women and families, while promoting education and employability in the tourism industry, with a particular focus on gender equality.

The Sani/Ikos Group's expansion plans include three new resorts in Greece, Spain and Portugal scheduled to open from 2026 to 2028, further consolidating its position as a leader in luxury hospitality in the Mediterranean.
