Dealing with humanitarian crises - "The Smile of the Child" next to refugee and migrant children

"The Smile of the Child" has supported more than 1,200,000 children and their families. Children victims of all forms of Violence, Children victims of Extinction, Children with health problems, Children who are or are threatened with poverty, have found a solution.
"The Smile of the Child" timelessly supports children refugees and immigrants who are in Greece.
Furthermore, the Organization in response to emergencies, along with the support of the tens of thousands of children in Greece in need due to the deep and perennial economic crisis, made superhuman efforts to support the thousands of refugee and migrant children who came to our country, alone or accompanied by their parents.
The implemented actions are provided by the specialized staff of the Organization with the valuable assistance of volunteers and always with the aim of substantially covering the innumerable and multifaceted needs that arise daily nationwide.
The aim is to provide essential services in the areas of Health and Safety.
Refugee and migrant children and their families as well as unaccompanied minors and parents looking for their children.

Each action for children refugees and migrants implemented by "The Smile of the Child" is carried out in collaboration with the competent institutional bodies (Ministry of National Defense, Ministry of Health, Coast Guard, Hellenic Police, Fire Brigade, National Emergency Aid Center (EKAV)., (Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (ΚΕΕLPNO), National Health Operations Centre (EKEPY_, public hospitals & health centers, regions, municipalities) to ensure transparency and quality for the services provided.
The specialized scientific staff of the Organization participate in this action; social workers, psychologists, rescuers, pediatricians, nurses, etc.
At the same time, the participation of hundreds of volunteers is decisive. In the actions implemented by the Organization from 29/2 to 30/6, a total of 370 volunteers of various ages and specialties were employed cotributing to this cause with a total of 1,530 hours of work. At the same period exclusively 61 doctors voluntarily provided medical examinations to children.
