Supply and installation of a simultaneous charging station for two electric cars

The Municipality of Karditsa is a Municipality of the region of Thessaly with its headquarters in Karditsa. The total area of the Municipality is 647,387 sq.km and its population is 56,747 inhabitants according to the 2011 Census. The current form of the Municipality arose with the Kallikratis Project, from the expansion of the original Municipality of Karditsa by merging into it the pre-existing Municipalities of Itamos, Kallifonos, Kambos, and Mitropolis. The Municipality of Karditsa is divided into 5 "Municipal Units" (MUs), which correspond to the 5 merged municipalities. Each municipal unit is divided into "communities", which correspond to the departments of the abolished OTAs.
The Municipality of Karditsa, in 2019 procured a charging station for two (2) electric cars at the same time as part of its participation in the European Mobility Week 2019 and the guidelines of the European Mobility Week.
This municipal charging station will provide electric car owners with the necessary charging point for the seamless use of their vehicles. With its installation, the Municipality of Karditsa aims to promote the use of electric vehicles as an alternative means of transportation which contributes to the reduction of pollution and noise within the city, to the environmental awareness of citizens and to meeting the charging needs of electric vehicles, the number of which is constantly increasing, especially among visitors to our city, as there is a shift towards electrification which is environmentally friendly because the emissions are zero. The charging service is provided free of charge by the Municipality.
