In the context of the digital transformation of the Municipality of Palaio Faliro, which is one of the main objectives of the municipal authority's strategy, the possibility of receiving digital certificates via the municipality's website has been completed. In an effort to deal with bureaucracy and better serve the public, the municipality proceeded to provide the service of issuing a series of certificates and supporting documents through its website, without requiring the physical presence of the applicants. In fact, the unprecedented conditions of the pandemic led to the acceleration of the procedures for the immediate implementation of this digital service provision.
Citizens and businesses can now submit the relevant request through the website of the Municipality at https://aitimata.palaiofaliro.gr/, saving time and avoiding confusion and inconvenience. The objective of the municipal authority is to expand and upgrade digital services by promoting innovation in administrative procedures in order to provide quality services to all. Taking advantage of TIC[1] and the innovative administrative practices they offer, this specific initiative has become feasible, which contributes to the achievement of better governance, the internal functioning of services and the provision of better quality services to the public.
In addition, the objective of this action is to change the culture of both the human resources of the municipality and the users in terms of the adoption of new practices that will lead to changes in the way of fulfilling the mission of the municipality through activities and procedures adapted to the developments and requirements in the socio-economic becoming. Particular importance is given to the development and implementation of actions aimed at serving the citizen and increasing trust and satisfaction of his needs.
