Objective Action

The initiative aims to reduce the digital environmental footprint of the Group by offsetting the CO₂ emissions associated with the operation of its corporate websites, while simultaneously advancing the Group’s carbon neutrality and social responsibility commitments.

Description

As part of its strategic ESG commitments, V Group has implemented the offsetting of CO₂ emissions generated by the operation of its websites, by supporting the certified “Sierra Leone Safe Water Project”.

The project contributes to:

  • Reducing emissions through the restoration of boreholes and limiting the need for wood burning
  • Improving access to clean water, thereby promoting public health and sustainable resource management
  • Enhancing the quality of life for vulnerable communities, with direct positive impact on women and children
  • Highlighting the interconnection between digital operations and the natural environment, encouraging responsible digital practices

Through this initiative, the Group goes beyond the mere measurement of emissions and actively adopts offsetting mechanisms, achieving climate-neutral operation of its digital infrastructure.

Impact on Society

The initiative led to the 100% offsetting of CO₂ emissions related to the operation of the Group’s corporate websites for the year 2024, rendering its digital presence climate neutral. This action significantly enhanced the environmental identity of the brand in the digital space, positioning the Group as a pioneer in linking digital operations with sustainable development.

It also raised awareness among clients, partners, and the general public regarding the ecological dimension of the internet and the importance of adopting responsible measures to reduce the digital carbon footprint.

Furthermore, by supporting the Sierra Leone Safe Water Project, the initiative generated tangible social impact by improving living conditions in local communities in Kono. It ensured access to clean water, reduced the need for wood burning, and facilitated daily life—especially for women and children.
