Objective Action

Obtaining the B Corp certification represents a milestone in Kerakoll's journey, within the framework of ESG criteria (Environmental, Social Responsibility, and Corporate Governance). It signifies the evolution from a tradition rooted in green building to a new business model where entrepreneurship serves as a positive driver for creating economic, social, and environmental value.

This marks another step in Kerakoll’s evolutionary path, through the integration of specific public benefit objectives into its corporate mission—goals that serve society and the environment and are pursued alongside financial objectives.

The aim of this initiative is to create a comprehensive, long-term growth strategy for the company, one that simultaneously generates a positive impact on the environment and communities, and is implemented in a structured and measurable way.

Target Audience

B Corp certification is granted to companies that are capable, after an evaluation by the international organization B Lab, of proving their commitment to generating a positive impact in five areas. The audience impacted by the certification received by Kerakoll is summarized in the following areas:

Human Resources: We care for our people and those who trust our products daily, choosing to make a difference.

Governance: We pursue goals that are linked to the well-being of the community and the planet.

Communities: We support the communities, and in turn, they support us.

Environment: During the development phase of our products' life cycle, we always take their impact on the planet into account.

Partners: We believe it’s important that everyone who collaborates with us, from suppliers to installers, shares the same values and cares about the same causes.

Description

The B Corp certification – issued by the international organization B Lab – is the recognition given to organizations committed to upholding high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability. These organizations work to measurably improve their positive impacts on employees, relevant communities, and the environment, with the goal of continuously evolving their practices and processes and fostering a culture based on inclusion and regeneration.

During the certification process, the impact generated by the Group as a whole was considered, with the active participation of the 11 countries in which Kerakoll operates, based on the five areas of evaluation: people, governance, community, environment, and customers.

Among the positive aspects identified in Kerakoll's B Corp evaluation were:

Governance systems based on ethics and transparency principles

People’s well-being (working conditions, health and safety, employment, and employee satisfaction)

Development opportunities (culture based on meritocracy and equal opportunities, turnover below 2%)

Continuous commitment to supporting non-profit organizations in the communities where Kerakoll operates

Supplier and partner monitoring and evaluation, concerning their social and environmental practices

Respect for natural resources according to the principles of the circular economy, such as the use of recycled materials

Land restoration and the use of renewable energy sources

Reduction in the use of chemicals and low emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOCs)
