1. EDUCATIONAL EVENT FOR STUDENTS OF THE SPECIAL SCHOOL OF CORFU (Mediterranean diet and local Ionian products)
In the field of education, integration is the main condition for access to all activities and all areas of social life. Integration as a goal includes all efforts that can be made to help people with special needs and abilities to develop their abilities and personality to fulfill their role in society with the greatest possible degree of autonomy.
Based on the above, the Agri-Food Partnership in collaboration with Primary Education implemented an action at the 1st Special School of Corfu, an event of an educational nature so that primary school students can get to know and get close to healthy nutrition as well as the highly nutritious local traditional products of the Region us.
2. INFORMATIONAL EVENT FOR CHILDREN /FESTIVAL OF KERKYRA Nymphs / Festival Waterfall Nymfes 2023
Our goal was to organize an educational event where, through experiential activities of awareness and awareness, through games and storytelling, but also tasks of acquiring knowledge and getting familiar with healthy nutrition, environmental protection and local traditional products of our region, to cultivate a new culture in the children.
The participation was highly satisfactory, with the participation of approximately 50 children from 4 different schools of the Northern Complex of Corfu, as well as their parents.
3. ORGANIZATION OF A STUDENT COMPETITION ENTITLED "LESS FOOD WASTE" IN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE CORFU GASTRONIC FESTIVAL
In the context of the student art competition organized by the Agri-Food Partnership PIN in collaboration with the Regional Directorate of Education of the Ionian Islands, entitled "Cooking with Leftovers - Less Food Waste", awards were made by the President of Agri-Food, Mr. Nikos Mouzakitis and Regional Director of Education of the Ionian Islands, Mr. Petros Angelopoulos.
In addition, in collaboration with the company HISTONI (cottage industry with natural products) the children and the 5th River Scout System got to know the world of herbs and their use in gastronomy, not only to expand their nutritional range but also to get to know the wide range of nutritional benefits to naturally boost the immune system.
Using olive oil, honey, walnuts, beeswax, basil, oregano and nettles, they made salves and pesto cream, which they served to the attendees, eliciting very positive comments!
4. VISITS TO PRODUCTION UNITS - COMPANIES
Through the memorandum of cooperation with the Regional Directorate of Education, we made visits to school units and organized educational trips to productive units in Corfu. So, through a targeted educational material, in collaboration with nutritionists, but also with the always important assistance of the production units, we experienced a unique journey towards knowledge of nutrition together with our children. The response from students, parents and teachers was great, that's why we will continue.
During the visits, the advantages and weaknesses faced by the production units were discussed.
