Description

AdvantAge initiative is a continuation of KPMG's "Out of Work in Opportunity" program, which was implemented in 2011, at the heart of the economic crisis in Greece, with the aim of supporting workers in their job search. With our experience, it has been established that there are difficulties in the absorption of mature workers in the labor market. The pandemic has exacerbated the phenomenon, as businesses have turned to workers with digital skills, believing that younger generations possess them to a greater degree.

KPMG is the only company among the Big Four that has launched an initiative to tackle age discrimination in the labor market. Most of the corresponding programs focus on the younger ages, while society itself and businesses do not invest in the development of their mature human potential.

AdvantAge comes to "bridge" the gap between mature age professionals and maintaining their employability. It contributes to the promotion of the social integration of workers over 50 years of age and strengthens their cooperation/interaction with the other generations. The training and education programs are provided free of charge and this is a pioneer in that it is tailored exactly to the needs of workers over 50 years of age. Through the seminars, a support network is created in which the participants find common ground in their concerns and reflections with the rest.

The gap between mature age workers and technological skills is constantly increasing as society and businesses do not invest in technological training policies. The Labor Market Mapping survey confirms this, as 86% of them claim that no further training is provided to mature workers. Through seminars, we invest in training professionals in new technologies and digital skills that are essential in the modern labor market.
