Target Audience

The target audience of the initiative is students aged 6-18 from the Municipality of Aristotle as well as college students.

Duration

The duration of the program is nine months. It commences in October and ends in June.

Description

Through the organization´s collaboration with Hellas Gold for a third consecutive year we try to bring about an educational-technological revolution at the Municipality of Aristotle. Through our program of educational robotics and coding workshops the kids come into first contact with a cutting edge technology and learn through entertaining educational procedures to love knowledge and learning, acquire digital skills, but also life skills - very useful tools for their further development as citizens of the world. During the year 2020-2021 the quality of education will be upgraded. This will happen in two ways. The first way relates to the introduction of a new thematic unit in the educational workshops which relates to sustainable development in the local community of the Municipality of Aristotle and the greater area. Additionally,  through the educational program students get familiar with concepts such as the environment, renewable energy sources, climate change and circular economy. Using robotics, steam workshops and coding workshops as a tool, students are tasked with developing their own personal environmental awakening which reinforces responsible and friendly behaviors for the protection of the environment and society itself after all.
The second way relates to the very nature of these workshops. Eduact responded with a high sentiment of responsibility to the health protocols that the times enforced due to the covid-19 pandemic. Thus it has decided not to cancel the workshops but continue the educational vision through the facilitation of virtual workshops while distributing the appropriate educational material that students may need to respond to the educational processes.
So, through our virtual workshops we continue to educate children - the young scientists of the municipality of Aristotle through innovative procedures and practices that aim at better familiarization with science and the development of life skills.
