Get Involved -a Civil Non-Profit Company- is a youth-led initiative that was founded in 2017 and addresses students and graduates through a variety of projects and initiatives. Our main objectives are to promote and broaden economic literacy and to strengthen interdisciplinarity by enhancing the interaction between young people of diverse scientific backgrounds. Get Involved aspiration is to serve as a communication channel between institutions, academia, corporations, and the youth. Moreover, through our initiatives, we aim to highlight the contemporary economic issues of the Euro Area, while taking into consideration the views and ideas of all stakeholders (Institutions, Universities, and Markets).

Objective Action

Get Involved aims through "Sustainable Future" to spread the message of the transition to a green economy, the challenges and opportunities of ESG for companies, as well as the new skills in the labour market to an extended young and student audience, following the established structure of a comprehensive examination of the issues and discussion with representatives of institutions, the market and academics. Description

Get Involved is a youth initiative for the development of economic education at an interdisciplinary level, using modern and experiential learning methods. Since 2017, it has served as a channel of communication between the academic community, institutions, and businesses with young audiences and students. The Sustainable Future is a foundational pillar of the organization, aiming to educate and inform about sustainability and ESG issues. It includes:

ESG Insights: This is one of the first Greek ESG Newsletters, providing monthly updates on the most significant developments in the field of ESG at both international and domestic levels.

Sustainable Future Conferences: These conferences aim to educate young people and the general public about contemporary issues related to sustainable development and the challenges of the green transition. Through these conferences, young individuals gain a holistic understanding of industry developments through representatives from institutions, markets, and the academic community.

ESG Insights started as an online newsletter providing specialized educational and informative content on international and domestic ESG developments. It reaches 1,200 recipients monthly in Greece and abroad. Since September 2021, 17 issues have been published, covering a total of 244 ESG developments, with 92 of them focused on the Greek reality. An innovative aspect of this initiative is the collaboration between Get Involved ΑΜΚΕ and Velos Advisory, a London-based boutique consulting firm. This collaboration led to the creation of the first newsletter on ESG issues entirely written by students. The inaugural issue, "ESG Insights: Impactful Awareness," defined concepts and provided a theoretical framework related to international and European conventions concerning ESG challenges.

Starting in spring 2023, following the lifting of health restrictions and an increased impact of the ESG insights newsletter, the Sustainable Future event series began. These events aim to facilitate broad dialogue and knowledge transfer to young individuals. So far, two Sustainable Future events have been held:

On March 17, 2023, the first event titled "ESG: Understanding the Pillar Challenge for the Greek Economy" took place at the Athens Stock Exchange. Its objective was to enhance understanding of ESG criteria, the importance of regulatory frameworks, and the necessity for companies to adapt to them. The event adopted a holistic approach with the participation of businesses, the banking sector, and government authorities. It also addressed the challenges that companies will face in their efforts towards sustainable development within a changing global landscape.

On May 5, 2023, the event "Sustainable Future II: Prospects and Challenges of the Energy Sector" was held at the Technopolis of the Municipality of Athens. This event focused specifically on the energy market and its role in sustainable development.

These Sustainable Future events aim to foster comprehension and discussion on ESG challenges for companies, the banking sector, and institutions, while also providing specific insights into the energy market and its role in sustainable development. Through an interactive model with speaker presentations and dialogue with students, participants received the inaugural issue of ESG Insights, which provided valuable information and enhanced the experiential learning aspect of the events. Students actively engaged in dialogues with speakers, posing questions related to the direction of new necessary skills in the contemporary job market and the trajectory of corporate transformation.

Benefits for Οrganization

For the organisation, multiple benefits are created through Sustainable Future projects that go beyond the financial. In particular, the networks are expanded and the possibility of organising new and more complex actions through contact with companies. At the same time, the initiatives are recognised by institutional bodies and the quality of the knowledge provided is enhanced. Through synergies with the academic community and international companies, significant know-how and information on the issues under consideration is transferred. Finally, for the members and volunteers of the organisation, know-how is created, soft skills are cultivated and opportunities for entering the labour market are provided.
