Premia Properties, actively supports the non-profit organization of Symplefsi that is volunteer based organizations that provides free medical services i.e. examinations, tests etc. and creates infrastructure projects to local communities of the Greek remote islands. It also organizes cultural events & activities and improves the educational infrastructure of the islands.

Duration

The purchase order of the equipment and the planning of the activities took place in December 2022 and the project was concluded with the Diaplous event in April 2023.

Description

The aim of Symplefsi (+plefsi SYMPLESIS AMKE) is to provide support to local communities in the remote islands of the country. As of to date, approximately 100 volunteers of 20 different medical and paramedical specialties have offered free examinations in over 2000 visits to clinics and to more than 1000 residents. In addition to that, they carried out medical examinations and 390 microbiological tests. This year they also organized 28 educational seminars, cultural and entertainment events (i.e. sexual health education, health & nutrition, cancer prevention and diagnosis, robotics workshop, STEAM art workshop, photography class, contemporary dance and improvisation, Greek music concert in a nursing home etc) and actions of environmental interest (i.e. cleaning of the coasts, tree planting).  Additionally, they made significant donations for 9 infrastructure projects of the local communities. Technological equipment and stationery were provided to 32 schools, along with significant medical equipment for the regional clinics.

As part of our sponsorship cooperation, Premia has purchased advanced ophthalmological equipment, a new portable ophthalmic refractometer, that detects and measures refractive eye diseases and is basic equipment for the ophthalmologists. This new equipment enabled the volunteer doctors to perform approximately 300 integrated ophthalmological examinations in the 9th Diaplous event that took place in April 2023. They have stated that “It is a great pleasure to be in the small islands of Greece and provide much-needed assistance to those in need”. At Premia, we take pride in supporting the outstanding work done by +plefsi. Our collaboration began in 2022 with the purchase of medical equipment, and act ideally  aligned with our commitment to make a meaningful contribution to society through impactful actions.

Impact on Society

Premia Properties participated as a gold sponsor in the 9th Diaplous event. We operate with a strong sense of responsibility towards society and our fellow human beings.  In this direction, we support initiatives and organizations that have great impact on local communities.  Symplefsi practically provides medical care to our fellow human beings of the Greek remote islands.  Symplefsis values are closely corelated to the values and philosophy of Premia Properties. The newly purchased refractometer is a necessary tool that complements and modernizes the team's existing one.  In particular, the refractometer detects and measures refractive eye diseases, i.e. myopia, hypermetropia, astigmatism, presbyopia, etc. and is a basic equipment of the ophthalmologist, which complements the examination with the trial lenses and the other examinations. In 2023, approximately 300 inhabitants undertook an ophthalmological examination and we expect this number to increase in the upcoming Diaplous events in the years to come.
