MUNICIPALITY OF KERATSINI-DRAPETSONA
The primary goal is to recover accessibility to the beach front, which was a long-standing request of the residents, and to create a hyperlocal pole of greenery, recreation, culture, sports and innovation.
It is addressed to all population groups of the wider area, as the area has turned into a pole of attraction for all of Attica.
The area is located next to the port of Piraeus and takes its name from the factory of the anonymous Greek company of Chemical Products and Fertilizers that was built in 1910, while its operation was finally stopped in 1999. In 2016, 86 of the 640 in total were granted to the Municipality acres. In this area, which includes three kilometers of coastline, redevelopment interventions were carried out with the creation of an open theater, tennis courts, basketball courts, football courts, walking and cycling routes, a playground, etc.
Thousands of citizens visit the site every year. They participate in plays, concerts and events or simply take daily walks by the sea.
