Reconstruction of standard Playgrounds with the support of Bwin

ELEPAP, Hellenic Society for the Protection and Rehabilitation of Disabled Persons, is the first charitable, non-profit association in Greece, which for over 80 years, has offered rehabilitation services to more than 100,000 infants, children and adults, with motor disabilities and neurodevelopmental problems , through its six Centers, in Athens, Thessaloniki, Ioannina, Chania, Volos and Agrinio.

ELEPAP's main goal is to provide innovative high-level integrated rehabilitation services, in a safe and familiar environment for children and their families.

Every donation is invaluable and is used for treatments and support of the innovative comprehensive rehabilitation programs for children with disabilities.



Objective Action

To improve the daily quality of life of the children of ELEPAP and at the same time to support the work of the employees and the administrative staff.

Description

Responding directly and effectively to the daily needs of vulnerable and susceptible social groups, bwin supported the valuable work of ELEPAP, implementing three projects of crucial importance for the children to whom it provides daily rehabilitation services. The goal of this bwin initiative was the complete reconstruction of three model Playgrounds at the ELEPAP Branches in Thessaloniki, Chania and Ioannina. Its purpose was for ELEPAP's disabled children to gain equal access to benefits that are mostly self-evident for the rest of their peers.

In the newly reconstructed model playgrounds, children can now safely play on a swing, slide, mini carousel and see-saw. Children in wheelchairs are now able to play and socialize with their peers every day, without any restrictions whatsoever.

Impact on Society

The importance of the projects implemented with the contribution of bwin is enormous, offering the possibility to children with motor disabilities and neuro-developmental problems to play and socialize without barriers and discrimination. Thanks to bwin's decisive contribution, these projects will continue for years to come, thus helping to provide equal opportunities and improved conditions of access for all children.

Enabling children with motor disabilities and neuro-developmental problems to play and socialize in the playground without barriers and discrimination, together with peers of typical development. In this way, it becomes possible for ELEPAP to provide every person with a disability and their family with Lifelong Support and access to rehabilitation programs regardless of their economic, social or religious background. The purpose of ELEPAP is to help Brave Children and adults with disabilities to take small or large steps forward, "Steps of Life".
