Objective Action

The main objective of the initiative is to raise the awareness of all stakeholders regarding the climate crisis and change as well as to develop effective and sustainable adaptation solutions to the rapid environmental changes as well as to find the required funding streams to finance them.

Description

Responding to climate change involves a two-pronged approach: Mitigation and Adaptation. Mitigation aims at reducing emissions and stabilizing the levels of heat-trapping greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, while Adaption seeks to reduce our vulnerability to the harmful effects of climate change. Through this initiative, which comprises a series of projects, we aim to respond to the challenges and opportunities of climate change and we work towards achieving natural resource management systems that are adaptive and resilient to the impacts of climate change.

Green investment, social enterprise, eco-preneurship, climate financing and impact investment; we provide a variety of avenues to support financiers in order to leverage funding for sustainable change.  We provide strategic guidance and implementation assistance for social and environmental impact assessment, development of social, environmental and governance indicators and other related activities.  We also work with policymakers to maximize the impact of policies such as the European New Green Deal, in order to align financial flows towards the achievement of a low-carbon transition.

The target audience of the initiative includes stakeholders in the field such as small and medium-sized enterprises, academia, citizens, policymakers, investors, etc. The most important results include the implementation of important policies and regulations, design measures and solutions to reduce pollution and ensure environmental protection, the buildup of effective communication and the increase of interest from all stakeholders, the possibility of achieving economic growth and improving living standards, long-term sustainable development, raising funds for the financing of innovative practices.
