Environmental Alliance of We4All

CIVIL SOCIETY: 276 PRACTICES
The purpose of our initiative was to establish an Environmental Alliance consisting of companies and organizations in a collective effort to make our world more sustainable. The ultimate goal is to build a framework for the harmonious coexistence of humanity with nature and to create a structure that enhances the resilience of ecosystems against climate change.
We4all’s mission is to help the Earth heal and to remind people that this planet is our home. We achieve this through environmental programs, corporate events, educational initiatives, social actions, and inclusion efforts, always with the goal of bringing together people with shared interests and vision. Therefore, it is our key priority to develop programs that meet all ESG criteria while also interacting with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, as no sustainability effort can be considered complete without integrating these critical criteria and striving for a more equitable and fair approach.
In this endeavor, our supporters and companions are the hundreds of companies and organizations that make up our Environmental Alliance, as they have supported our programs to some extent and in the way they chose. Moreover, for any initiative to be truly impactful, it is essential to draw strength from collaborations that can yield the greatest benefits for all parties involved. That is why our programs are designed to cover all the needs our partners may have within the framework of volunteerism and corporate social responsibility.
Our programs are designed with the common good in mind and are open to any individual, company, or organization that wishes to contribute to this effort with the resources they have and become a stakeholder in positive environmental action.
However, as a non-profit organization, we aim for all these initiatives to be supported by companies that, within the framework of their corporate responsibility, are seeking a specialized environmental partner to help them give back to the environment, support the local communities in which they operate, and improve their corporate governance practices. In such cases, we co-create programs that align with the relevant Sustainable Development Goals each time while also informing our partners, upon completion of each collaboration, about the impact of our joint efforts. This includes reports detailing how the partnership has contributed to reducing the company’s ethical and environmental footprint.
Our environmental alliance was created in 2021 and has been growing bigger and stronger ever since.
We4all was founded on the principles of environmental contribution and action for ecosystem restoration. However, given the immense needs and the critical timing, our programs have expanded to cover all strategic priorities as outlined by the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Our initiatives—including tree planting in forest and urban ecosystems, reforestation efforts, the care and watering of our already planted saplings, forest cleanups for both prevention and fire protection, as well as coastal and underwater ecosystem cleanups—are directly linked to goals such as climate action. They positively impact life on land and below water, cleaner water and sanitation, good health and well-being, and naturally, the development of more sustainable and resilient communities.
On the other hand, our socially-oriented initiatives, which focus on inclusion both within and beyond national borders and on supporting populations affected by the devastating natural disasters of recent years, contribute directly or indirectly to achieving goals such as zero poverty, zero hunger, gender equality, decent work and economic growth, and reduced inequalities.
Finally, through our collaborations with companies and organizations, and thanks to our expertise, we provide valuable information, guidance, and opportunities for adopting more sustainable practices across all sectors. This fosters greater participation and accountability while addressing all remaining goals and ultimately reinforcing the most crucial and urgent one—Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals, which is essential for achieving all of the above.
Our great efforts over the years have led to an increase in our impact, maximizing the benefits for both humanity and the environment. To date, we have planted over 3,000,000 trees, educated approximately 250,000 children in schools—fostering a new generation of environmentally conscious citizens—trained over 6,000 volunteers, and successfully completed hundreds of corporate initiatives.
Our actions take place everywhere arounf Greece, while at the same time we have been active abroad, in 14 different countries.
In order to continuously complete and expand our initiatives while providing increasingly comprehensive programs, we have built strategic partnerships with government agencies, local authorities, municipalities across the country, as well as other organizations and civil society entities. Of course, the driving force behind all these efforts is the support of companies and volunteers.
Some of these partnerships include:
a) Official partners of the United Nations
b) Under the auspices of the Region of Attica
c) Collaboration with over 50 municipalities in Greece
d) Partnership with the Forest Directorate and Civil Protection
e) Cooperation with the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America
All the aforementioned entities implement these programs together, something we are particularly proud of. It is a chain in which we4all serves as the connecting link: our team takes on the organization of every stage of these environmental programs, from planning to execution, thanks to its expertise in this field. Of course, the volunteers on the ground are another essential component in ensuring the successful completion and high quality of our work.
We4All, through its consistency and dedication, has successfully grown as an organization, evolved into a trusted environmental partner for over 300 companies, and secured the necessary support at all levels to continue its mission. This has been achieved despite the many significant challenges it faces, including natural threats and extreme weather events, bureaucratic processes, and the ongoing issue that civil society organizations encounter—the limitation of resources.
