Objective Action

The objectives of the program are

1. The training of specialized graduates with knowledge of environmental/social accounting, (corporate) governance and sustainable finance.

2. Cultivating in (potential) executives of organizations a new philosophy that takes into account beyond expected performance and risk as well as social impact.

3. Meeting the needs at postgraduate level for trained executives with knowledge in the private and public sector.

4. The training/education of scientists able to follow the academic career.

Target Audience

PMS aspires to train graduates from departments of the Schools of Economics and Administrative Sciences and related schools as well as graduates from other academic subjects. The need to deepen the knowledge field of PMS is obvious if one considers that the specific subject is not covered at postgraduate level by any other University in Greece, while it is a modern topic that is discussed in the field of entrepreneurship (ESG). The training of economists and others professionals will contribute to obtain the necessary knowledge in the daily exercise of their profession as well as to promote the sustainability of companies, organizations and society in general.

Duration

The P.M.S. "Sustainable Accounting, Finance and Governance" is structured in three (3) academic semesters, (90 ECTS) which include the teaching of twelve (12) courses [nine and three seminars, (60 ECTS)] and the preparation of a diploma thesis (30 ECTS ). The minimum duration for the completion of the program is three (3) academic semesters. The possibility of part-time study with two additional semesters is provided. The possibility of part-time study is provided for working postgraduate students. Students in this category must be proven to work at least twenty (20) hours per week and present a relevant employment contract or employer's certificate. In their application, candidates choose full or part-time study. The possibility of part-time study is also provided for non-working postgraduate students when there are serious reasons, such as illness, serious family reasons, force majeure or military service, due to which they are unable to meet the minimum requirements of the full-time study program. In this case, the Department Assembly must approve the partial study.

Description

Τhe specific PMS is the only one of its kind and topic in Greece. The combination of relevant subjects it treats and the particular emphasis it places on environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues provide a new philosophy to graduates. In particular, the social impact and the need for decisions involving the criterion of sustainability are highlighted. The composition of the program gives the possibility of an interdisciplinary approach and thus the expression of interest from different scientific fields, both in the sciences of Economics and Management, but also in other related subjects. For this reason, we believe that there will be a strong interest in participation.
