In a period of long economic hardship for our country, there are still some "romantics", who, despite the many, still believe that we Greeks can succeed, as long as we combine common action , the specific goal and the uncharitable behavior.

This "romantic activism" is expressed through the great effort to highlight the dominant role of Culture , Tourism , Sports , the Environment and Volunteering in Greece.

In the summer of 2010, the institutional bodies of communication, SDE (Association of Advertisers of Greece), EEDE (Association of Advertising and Communication Companies), EITISEE (Association of Private Television Stations of Athens), EIIRA (Association of Owners of Private Radio Stations of Athens), Union of Film and Television Producers (PAKT) and SEPT (Association of Newspaper Press Businesses), joined forces for the first time to achieve a common goal: the awakening of Greek society and the recovery of the Greek economy.

This initiative essentially expresses the determination of the private sector to offer its services to the Greek state on a non-profit basis, so that in this period of prolonged economic crisis, the country receives the greatest possible assistance from the most robust and healthy branches of the Greek market.

The Hellenic Banks Association (EET), the Association of Mobile Telephony Companies (EEKT), the Association of Petroleum Trading Companies of Greece (SEEPE), the Panhellenic Association of Cosmetics Industries & Dealers stood by the side of the institutional communication bodies, almost from the beginning of the project. & Perfumes (PSVAK), the Panhellenic Exporters Association (PSE), the Association of Greek Food Industries (SEBT), the Hellenic Association of Branded Products Industries (ESVEP), the Union of Hellenic Phonograph Producers (IFPI), the Association of Greek Retail Businesses (SELPE) , the Panhellenic Union of the Pharmaceutical Industry (PEF), the Chamber of Commerce & Industry of Thessaloniki (EBETH), the Association of Informatics & Communications Companies of Greece (SEPE) and the Hellenic Scouts Corps (SEP).

At the beginning of 2012, the whole effort took shape, as well as legal status, as an Urban Non-Profit Company with the name "ALLIANCE FOR GREECE" , whose founding members include important personalities of culture, business, sports and of volunteering.

The "ALLIANCE FOR GREECE" is also strengthened by their active participation and action, many public and private bodies, organizations, businesses and also individuals, executives of all levels of the business hierarchy.

Description

ALLIANCE FOR GREECE implements programs regarding Culture, Tourism, Sports, Environment and Volunteering. We are proceeding with synergies between our companies/members but also with the private and public sector to achieve the following goals:

  • Reinforcement of the state's effort for enhancing the country's exposure.
  • Awareness of public opinion and especially of the business world for the need to promote programs that will contribute to the development of our country's productive resources and the quality upgrade of the services provided.
  • Maximization of the social benefit, through the awareness of the Greek society.
  • Promotion of Greece with the cooperation of major productive entities, especially in the fields of volunteerism, tourism, the environment, culture and sports, as well as the support of any activity that promotes the above sectors, in order to achieve the best possible result, with the lowest possible expense.
  • Promote research to identify means in order to improve the quality of the Greek product.

Based on the above and knowing the countless benefits of recycling, ALLIANCE FOR GREECE designed an initiative to protect the environment and promote environmental education through synergies between companies and organizations in private and public sector.

We contacted both public and private sector to establish synergies and we were able to promote integrated recycling programs to as many as possible. After 4 years we managed to get the following organizations and businesses to join the rewarding recycling and circular economy programs:

  • Ministry of Citizen Protection
    • Hellenic Police
    • General Secretariat of Anti-Criminal Policy / Korydallos’ Prison
  • Ministry of Culture & Sports
  • Ministry of Development and Investments
  • Ministry of Maritime Affairs & Insular Policy
  • Ministry of Justice:
    • Supreme Court Prosecutor's Office
    • Courts
    • Athens Appeals Prosecutor's Office
    • Piraeus Court of Appeal (Courts)
    • Piraeus Maritime Court
    • Juvenile Probation Service and Social Assistance Piraeus
  • The Office (of Prime Minister)
  • Welfare Benefits and Social Solidarity Organization (OPEKA)
  • NATIONAL ENERGY
  • MOTODYNAMICS
  • Everest Group
  • New Democracy Offices
  • KARENTA
  • ALLIANCE FOR GREECE

It is an innovation because at the same time it serves different purposes achieved through the cooperation of many different companies and organizations in both private and public sector:

  • Employees from different industries, companies, agencies "collaborate", without working together, and contribute to the protection of the environment.
  • At the same time, this initiative contributes to support different public benefit organizations. For each package that is recycled, the compensatory price is €0.03 cents and supports a charity chosen by each service that takes part in the program.
  • The public sector also fulfills its legal obligation arising from the provisions of paragraph 3 of Article 12 of Law 4496/2017, according to which: "Public Services, legal entities under public law, public enterprises and organizations, as well as OTAs, are obliged to ensure the separate collection of the individual packaging materials ...".
