It resulted by the combination of pre-existing municipalities of Pallini, Gerakas and Anthousas community. It occupies a total area of 30.72 square kilometers and it seats in Gerakas.

The Social Solidarity Network was created in 2011 to address the effects of poverty at local level. It consists of complementary social structures and a network, covering different needs of vulnerable social groups, operating with transparency rules and creating an institutional framework that ensures continuity. The basis on which the Social Solidarity Network has been founded is the local community itself. The activation of the local community was -and still is- the big challenge. Volunteers, collective bodies, social sensitivity of local businesses are the key components of the Municipality activities.

2011 - today
The network consists of the following structures:
Social grocery: Serving a growing number of families, it provides them with food and basic necessities. The Social Grocery is supported by businesses, the local authorities and individuals.
Social tutorial: It serves 200 students, with the support of 45 volunteer teachers, based on the philosophy that solidarity and volunteering can be a powerful antidote to the financial crisis.
Social pharmacy: The Social Pharmacy serves indigent and uninsured citizens or residents of the Municipality of Pallini for a specified period. Established in collaboration with the NGO "World Pharmacists" and supported -when it is necessary- by volunteer pharmacist.
Social Exchange: The purpose of the structure is to meet the needs of vulnerable groups in footwear clothing, household equipment and any other commodities. The action is based on the philosophy of exchange economy. Economically weak citizens can obtain free clothing, footwear, household equipment. Residents who are not included in this category may exchange the above items.
Product distribution without intermediaries: In an effort of self-organization and control concerning the price of agricultural products for consumer's protection, the Municipaliti of Pallini created the on-line platform "markepallinis.gr". The platform functions as a producers' on-line auction through which they sell their products directly to consumers.
Psychosocial support Office: With the support of social workers and psychologists of the Municipality, social research, counseling (individually or in group at schools), information activities and reference servises are provided.
