"Safe Touch" is a sexual abuse prevention program, implemented by the ELIZA Association, following the standards of the American Safe Touches program of the NYSPCC. The program is aimed at children aged 5 to 9, is developed in schools on the initiative of teachers and teaches children how to protect themselves from sexual abuse.
The program educates and informs teachers and parents alike, so that they are able to recognize the signs that lead to suspicion of abuse, but also realize the necessity of recognition.
The founding donor of the program is the "Stavros Niarchos" Foundation, while the Supporters are Nea Odos S.A. and the Bank of Greece.
The "Safe Touch" program was developed for life in 2016. In order to ensure the sustainability of the program, the continuation of the education of primary school students over time and the diffusion of the program throughout the country, the program was also digitized with the contribution of COSMOTE and since 2021, it has joined the Skills Workshops of the Educational Policy Institute. The digital program has 3 main pillars: The workshop aimed at children A, B, C, Elementary, the educational video for teachers, the informative video for parents.
