The Ark of the World is a voluntary non Profit Organization dedicated to caring for destitute mothers and their children. “The Ark” was founded in 1998 by father Antonios Papanikolaou and after 18 years support 450 children and many mothers and families.

At the education and socialization of the ark's of the world children.
1) Remedial Teaching
As part of our philosophy that education is one way that you can get out of the impasse of life, ignorance and delinquency, we have created sessions of remedial teaching for children of all school grades. The sections are taking place on a daily base by volunteer teachers (primary school teachers and teachers of all subjects) who prepare and help children with their homework. It involves tutorial sections per classroom and lesson.
2) Greek Language Learning
Among the children of families that we support are the children of foreign immigrants, for which the conditions of life brought them to us. We teach them the Greek language in order to be able to adapt to the new conditions of life, assimilate into Greek culture and reality without losing their individual characteristics while participating in different activities. We treat these children with the same love and care and at the same time we show respect to their national specificity and religion.
3) Experiential School – Winners of Life
In this context, at the end of the previous school year, we started with the encouragement of Father Anthony, the Experiential School of the “Ark of the World”, which we will also continue this school year.
In this school special psychologist, social workers, educators, mental health counselors and others try to present and analyze to the children various issues that concern them or even they may need to confront in the future. The context of these courses is always in accordance with the modern pedagogical and psychological methods and in parallel to the requirements of our Orthodox tradition, which emphasizes into the person and the relationship that develops within the group.

We activated and handled hundreds of volunteers of all specialties, who have always been available, with implicit support and love and who constantly following our instructions, they have contributed significantly in the achievement of the objectives of the “Ark of the World” in terms of education and socialization of children.
