Description


The Municipality of Ioannina designs and implements projects that will enhance the sustainable development of the city and refer to the field of recycling, as well as sustainable energy and sustainable urban mobility. It is already involved in European innovation projects, which include pilot solutions to reduce city's energy footprint and address the challenges of urban mobility in terms of sustainability and the design of nature-based solutions.

It also implements projects for smart urban lighting, electric vehicles, supply of new technology vehicles with reduced pollutants, recycling by sorting at the source, biowaste collection, strengthening the circular economy by recycling clothes and accessories, etc.
