Campaign to Raise Awareness for Medicine Donation

Objective Action

The aim of the campaign is to raise awareness and motivate individuals who have medicines or/and health products they don't need, to donate them through GIVMED. More specifically, this campaign wants to underline how easy it is to donate the medicines you don't need at the nearest donation point. It is also important to mention that every year in Greece 34.000.000 packs of medicines are forgotten in our drawers, expire and eventually are disposed. At the same time, 1.900.000 people live below the poverty line and thousands of children lack the access to medicines they need. GIVMED bridges this gap since 2016, by ensuring the access to medicines for socially vulnerbale groups.

Target Audience

The campaign is aimed for adults of any gender and age, that they have medicines or/and health products in their house that they do not use and they can donate through GIVMED.

Description

The campaign consists of a video and a radio spot which were promoted through digital and traditional channels. The duration of the campaign was two (2) months and it was the first big scale campaign of GIVMED that included actors.

Impact on Society

The campaign reached 7.668.984 impressions on social media, google ads and premium advertising, while it resulted in the donation of medicines/health products worth of eight (8) times the cost of the campaign.

Since October 2021, UNICEF Greece supports GIVMED in order to implement a program to ensure access to medicines for children and their education on issues regarding medicines and vaccines. Prolepsis Institute is responsible for the development of the educational activities. With the occasion of the above program, this new campaign was created for the donation of medicines for children.
