Adoption of Marikes beach of the Municipality of Rafina - Pikermio within the framework of the project Paralies initiative

In the context of corporate actions of Sustainable Development & strengthening of our environmental responsibility, in the summer of 2021 we actively participated in the Project PARALIES initiative. Through this action, we supported the local community, "adopting" the beach "Marikes", which is located in the Municipality of Rafina-Pikermio. Our goal is to protect the coastal and marine ecosystem from pollution.

This initiative aims to deal with coastal pollution, through actions to clean the beaches, the separate collection of the various streams of waste produced mainly by bathers and visitors to the beaches, as well as raising public awareness of the need protection of the coasts and the sea. At the same time, through the recycling of the materials that will be collected, it aims to implement the principles of the Circular Economy.

The environmental footprint of the action was recorded in a special report and the quantitative data collected was submitted to the Ministry of the Environment and the EU's Marine Litter Watch application.
