Description

Quest Group and its companies have contributed significantly to support the Greek State and the society, participating to the overall efforts against the pandemic.

ACS, the biggest courier services Greek company, and member of Quest Group played a key role to these efforts. As part of its CSR strategy for immediate response to emergencies all around Greece, the company in collaboration with NGOs and other entities proceeded with substantial actions by providing to the society its strongest characteristics: immediacy, credibility, quality and panhellenic coverage.   

Briefly the actions consist to:

Free of charge delivery of hygienic material and vouchers for necessities (30 March-15 May)

The company collaborated with:

  • GIVMED NGO: delivery of hygienic material to 13 geriatric centers around Greece, including 22.250 masks, 150.000 single use gloves, 296 pairs of protective glasses, 2.000 waterproof single use blouses and 390lt sanitizer for 1.312 elder people and personnel. Additionally, ACS offered free of charge deliveries to 34 public benefit entities collaborators of GIIVMED around Greece, including 20.000 masks, 400 waterproof single use blouses, 472lt sanitizer and 500 protective face masks, for 4.049 people belonging to vulnerable groups.
  • DESMOS NGO: free of charge delivery of hygienic material to nurses of welfare centers and healthcare centers in Kavala, Ioannina, Patras, Zante and Karpenissi, and free of charge delivery of supermarket vouchers to Athens Nursing Home, to cover their needs for food and other necessities, supporting 735 people in total.  
  • STIRIXI volunteers team: free of charge delivery of supermarket vouchers to needy families, supporting more than 100 people.
  • Free of charge delivery of 100 tablets to educational structures of Pieria Prefecture.

The contribution at local level was also very important: ACS of Imathia Prefecture offered money to Champions of Life NGO to purchase 8 respirators for local healthcare centers, ACS at Tinos Island transported for free more than 7000 certificates for the exceptional transfer of citizens, and ACS of Veria distributed approximately 800 books of the Municipal Library to their members during May.  

Free of charge delivery of single use masks (1 June-31 October 2020)

2.000.000 certified single use masks, donation of Thrace Plastic Pack S.A., were delivered by ACS in collaboration with DESMOS NGO to 193 entities around Greece:

70 nursing homes
25 children care foundations
25 entities for the support of needy and homeless
8 entities for the support and hospitality of people with special needs and disabilities
2 centers for gender equality and against discrimination
5 entities for the support of refugees
1 entity for company to hospital patients
57 entities providing healthcare services

Furthermore, the company offered to the Central Union of Greek Municipalities free of charge delivery of 195 boxes of protective masks for students and teachers of schools in the following insular municipalities: Agathonissi, Agios Efstratios, Alonissos, Amorgos, Samos, Anafi, Andros, Antiparos, Argostoli, Astypalaia, Chania, Kassos, Psara, Thassos, Santorini, Ikaria, Kalymnos, Karpathos, Kea, Kimolos, Kythira, Kythnos, Lipsi, Leros, Lefkada, Lemnos, Kastelorizo, Milos, Mykonos, Naxos, Nissyros, Chios, Paxoi, Paros, Patmos, Samothrace, Serifos, Sikinos, Sifnos, Skiathos, Skopelos, Skyros, Spetses, Symi, Syros, Telos, Tinos, Hydra, Folegandros, Fourni, Chalki.

Collection and distribution of medicines (15 October-15 November2020)

The company collected medicines from citizens and ACS employees at the centers of the company in Attika, which were further distributed by GIVMED to vulnerable groups of people through social pharmacies and to geriatric entities around Greece.

Free of charge delivery of sanitizers (May-June 2020)

ACS worked with Papoutsanis S.A. for the free of charge delivery of 329 boxes of sanitizers to Special Elementary Schools and Nurseries around Greece.

Free of charge delivery of healthcare material

ACS in collaboration with World Pharmacists offered free of charge delivery of courier, medicines and healthcare material (masks, personal protection equipent, sanitizers etc), to support entities, Refugee Hospitality Centers, Social Support Structures around Greece.
