The ALFA WOOD group, in the context of a more rational approach to the problem of environmental degradation and the depletion of conventional, non-renewable, fuels, applies environmentally friendly technology, as the utilization of biomass is accompanied by a reduced production of pollutants or gases that increase the risk for climate changes, contributes to sustainable development, contributes to the security of energy supply and contributes to the increase in employment and in general the socio-economic benefit of citizens.

We manage the residual biomass and wood residues from the industrial production of our products, using them as raw material for the production of electrical and thermal energy, "green energy".

Impact on Society

We electrify 6,000 homes annually with green energy from biomass

All by-products of wood processing, resulting from the production process as well as those not suitable for sale/essentially at the end of their life cycle, are used for biomass energy production, depending on their origin, thus saving energy resources , with a parallel contribution to sustainability.

Improving the security of the electricity supply and better dealing with the costly energy losses faced by the local electricity network (losses, which in Greece amount to 7% on average).

Covering peak loads and simultaneously reducing the total cost of electricity generation, given that covering these peak loads is particularly expensive, as the maximum production of electricity from biomass can be programmed to coincide with daily demand peaks (especially summer months).

The effects on the social and developmental character of the region are positive. The operation of the power plant and the supply of the existing network with electricity contributes to the improvement of the socio-economic environment and the local infrastructure of the area. The exploitation of energy materials contributes to the general reduction of pollution of the atmosphere, the subsoil and water resources due to the replacement of the energy produced by conventional power plants, but also to the saving of fuel for the benefit of the national economy. In this way, electricity is produced in the most environmentally friendly way. In addition, the need to transport electricity from the generating stations to the consumption centers is reduced and losses are reduced and the electricity network works better.
