TITAN CEMENT COMPANY S.A.

Rehabilitation of areas in Dervenochoria and Mandra that were affected by the devastating wildfires of 2023

TITAN and the Paul and Alexandra Canellopoulos Foundation made a significant donation of €1 million, contributing to the protection of the natural environment and local communities, as climate change makes imperative the need to shield our country against the increasingly frequent occurrence of catastrophic natural phenomena.

Residents and TITAN employees in the areas of Boeotia and Western Attica, specifically the broader region of Dervenochoria and Mandra.

The project initiated in December 2023 and was completed in April 2024.

TITAN and the Paul & Alexandra Canellopoulos Foundation have taken the initiative, and in close and direct collaboration with the Ministry of Environment and Energy, are named Rehabilitation Contractors in a specific area of around 41,000,000 square meters in Western Attica. The rehabilitation includes financing the relevant studies as well as the immediate execution of anti-corrosion works, to address soil erosion and protection from flooding that will allow the natural revitalization and regeneration of the area.

In February 2024, the Minister of Environment and Energy, Mr. Theodoros Skylakakis, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Paul and Alexandra Canellopoulos Foundation, Mr. Nellos Canellopoulos and the General Manager of TITAN Greece, Mr. Angelos Kalogerakos -accompanied by the executives of the Forestry Department- inspected the progress of the works, which were completed in April 2024.

This action follows the prevention and rehabilitation plan of €1 million, implemented by the Paul and Alexandra Canellopoulos Foundation and TITAN in the aftermath of the wildfires that affected the country in 2021.

The initiative was implemented in collaboration with the General Directorate of Forests and Forest Environment of the Ministry of Environment and Energy, the Attica Reforestation Directorate, and the Forestry Departments of Egaleo and Thebes.
