Patras Codecamp 2021

The aim of the initiative is to promote programming, digital skills and technology. At Patras Codecamp we believe that technology must be open and accessible to all. The action aspires to bring young people in contact with the subject of technology, to equip them with the necessary skills to enter the labor market and to help close the gender gap, starting at school!

Patras Codecamp is addressed to anyone who loves technology, from 8 years old (through junior codecamp) till 65+!

Patras Codecamp is the largest technology community in Western Greece and a reference point for the city of Patras!
It started in 2016 and is organized every year, within the framework of the European Code Week which takes place every October. The aim of Patras Codecamp is to promote programming, digital skills and technology, while aspiring to bring young people in touch with the subject of technology and to help close the gender gap. Companions in this endeavor are many companies, organizations and technology communities that share the same vision with us!

In this year's action participated all the employees of our organization (10 people) as well as employees from the collaborating bodies (10 people) and about 10 volunteers. 35 people in total.

This year's (2021) event was consisted of an opening phygital event that took place on Friday, November 12, at the Conference Venue of Patras University and streamed live on social media (Facebook & YouTube), and then, during the weekend, November 13 and 14, the online workshops took place.

 

Since 2016, Patras Codecamp has benefited more than 3,000 people, through 86 training workshops with a total duration of 165 educational hours.

Specifically for 2021, 20 Workshops were held, and 40 training hours by 32 instructors and participated online 860 people from 55 cities in Greece.

The Patras Codecamp started as an initiative in 2016 within the framework of the European Code Week and since then, takes place every year, turning into an event that is now an institution for the city of Patras and Western Greece. Today, dozens of volunteers, organizations and companies from all over Greece are involved, creating a large and active community that contributes to the empowerment of young people and connects them to the labor market, promotes the proper use of technology and gender equality in the sector.
