|
The companionship program “Time Together” is a targeted Corporate Responsibilityνinitiative by LAMDA Development, implemented in collaboration with Emfasis Non-Profit. The program aims to improve the daily lives and quality of life of elderly people by addressing social isolation and strengthening their mental well-being, self-esteem, and active participation in the social and cultural life of local communities. Launched in 2025 as part of LAMDA Development’s Impact Corporate Responsibility program, the initiative is implemented in the municipalities of Elliniko-Argyroupoli, Alimos, and Glyfada, which are adjacent to The Ellinikon development, further strengthening the project’s connection with local communities. Through a human-centered and personalized intervention model, the program transforms social care from passive support into an active experience of connection, participation, and personal empowerment. The program’s activities include meaningful companionship and creative engagement through organized home visits by the interdisciplinary team of Emfasis Non-Profit, offering conversation, social interaction, and emotional support, as well as creative activities such as walks, board games, music, reading, gardening, and cooking. In parallel, theater workshops are organized in collaboration with the National Theatre of Greece, while beneficiaries are also offered complimentary tickets to performances. The program is further enriched with personal care and self-care activities, including hairdressing and nail care, designed to strengthen beneficiaries’ self-esteem and overall well-being. Through these activities, the program fosters a sense of belonging, enhances social connection, and creates the conditions to help prevent social exclusion. At the same time, its personalized approach allows each intervention to be tailored to the needs, interests, and lifestyle of each beneficiary, cultivating relationships of trust and meaningful human interaction. At the same time, the “Time Together” companionship program serves as a catalyst for strengthening local social policy, in cooperation with municipalities and Senior Citizens’ Open Care Centers (known as KAPI), creating a cohesive care network. In this way, the initiative is not merely a social contribution activity, but a structured model of responsible entrepreneurship with a tangible social impact, contributing to the creation of more inclusive, resilient, and people-centered local communities. |

The “Time Together” companionship program primarily targets senior citizens living in the municipalities of Elliniko-Argyroupoli, Alimos, and Glyfada who experience social isolation, loneliness, or limited participation in the social and cultural life of their communities. At its core the program focuses on elderly individuals who need human connection, emotional support, creative engagement, and enhanced daily well-being through activities tailored to their personal needs, interests, and pace of life. At the same time, the initiative addresses the wider local communities surrounding The Ellinikon, contributing to social cohesion, the prevention of social exclusion, and the cultivation of a culture of care, dignity, and active participation. Municipalities, social services, and Senior Citizens’ Open Care Centers (KAPI) also constitute a key audience of the program, as it operates in a complementary way to existing social welfare structures, strengthening their capacity to effectively reach and support senior citizens. In addition, the initiative activates a broader ecosystem of collaboration involving volunteers, specialized professionals, cultural organizations, and local partners, generating multiplier value for the community. In this way, the program extends beyond its direct beneficiaries, engaging and mobilizing society as a whole toward becoming more inclusive, people-centered, and responsive to the needs of the elderly population. |

The “Time Together” companionship program is a targeted Corporate Responsibility initiative by LAMDA Development, implemented in collaboration with Emfasis Non-Profit, with the aim of meaningfully supporting senior citizens experiencing social isolation, loneliness, or limited participation in daily life. The initiative was launched in 2025 as part of the LAMDA Impact Corporate Responsibility program and is implemented in the municipalities of Elliniko-Argyroupoli, Alimos, and Glyfada, which neighbor The Ellinikon, further strengthening the connection between the landmark development and the local communities around it. The initiative was designed as a human-centered and personalized social intervention model that transforms care from passive support into an active experience of connection, participation, and personal empowerment. At the core of the program is the development of trust-based relationships with beneficiaries through interventions tailored to the needs, interests, abilities, and personalities of each individual. This approach is particularly important, as the program addresses people who have often become disconnected from social life and require time, consistency, and sensitivity in order to re-engage. The program’s core activities include organized home visits by the interdisciplinary team of Emfasis Non-Profit, aimed at providing companionship, conversation, emotional support, and creative engagement. During these visits, activities such as walks, board games, music, reading, gardening, and cooking are organized, enhancing communication, memory, imagination, self-expression, and the overall mood of elderly participants. At the same time, the program connects care with culture and experiential participation. In collaboration with the National Theatre of Greece, theater workshops are organized, while beneficiaries are also offered complimentary tickets to performances, giving them the opportunity to reconnect with cultural life and participate in experiences that strengthen social interaction, creativity, and their sense of belonging. In addition, the program includes make-over and personal self-care activities, such as hairdressing and nail care services, aimed at enhancing self-esteem, well-being, and a sense of personal value.
The implementation of the program is based on close collaboration with municipalities, social services, and Senior Citizens’ Open Care Centers (KAPI), ensuring that the activities are integrated into the broader social welfare framework and operate complementarily to existing structures. In this way, a cohesive local care network is created, strengthening municipal social policy and contributing to the more effective support of vulnerable groups. A distinctive characteristic of the “Time Together” companionship program is that it goes beyond providing isolated support activities and instead creates a comprehensive ecosystem of social connection involving institutions, professionals, volunteers, cultural organizations, and local community structures. Through this collaborative approach, the initiative contributes to reducing social isolation, strengthening the mental health and self-esteem of elderly individuals, and fostering more inclusive and resilient local communities. Overall, the “Time Together” program constitutes a structured, sustainable, and replicable model of responsible entrepreneurship, demonstrating that corporate responsibility can generate meaningful social value by linking urban development with care, dignity, and quality of life. |
