With a strong sense of responsibility toward society and public health, Affidea Greece has supported the Hellenic Fire Service by offering free preventive medical examinations to its personnel for the 4th consecutive year. This initiative is a gesture of recognition for the invaluable work carried out by firefighters in protecting both society and the natural environment. The aim of this action is to provide tangible support to firefighters through the coverage of diagnostic tests — a small token of gratitude for their selfless service and the courage they demonstrate daily as true “heroes on the front lines.”

Affidea’s healthcare coverage program is addressed to all firefighters in Greece — both professional members and volunteers — offering them access to high-quality preventive and diagnostic examinations (check-ups) free of charge. These services are available at all Affidea diagnostic centers across the country, ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety.

Up to the present day, the initiative has provided free medical examinations to thousands of firefighters, ensuring regular health monitoring and the early detection of potential health issues. It has significantly contributed to raising awareness among firefighters about the importance of preventive healthcare. Participants have reported an improved sense of security and support, enhancing their psychological well-being and their ability to meet the demands of their challenging duties.

Between 2022 and 2024, the initiative served more than 1.000 members of the Hellenic Fire Service, by offering them preventive medical check-ups. This action contributed to the timely diagnosis and monitoring of their health, reinforcing both prevention and care. Additionally, it highlighted the vital role of preventive medicine in the daily lives of these “frontline heroes.”
