| HELLENiQ ENERGY’s Volunteering Program “Energy of Contribution” | ||||
|
The objective of HELLENiQ ENERGY’s Volunteering Program “Energy of Contribution” is to systematically strengthen and further develop the company’s long-standing contribution to the communities in which it operates, through a structured and coherent framework of actions with meaningful social and environmental impact, while also providing employees with the opportunity to contribute to the local communities where they work—and in many cases live. Although volunteering has long been an integral part of HELLENiQ ENERGY’s DNA, this submission focuses on the strengthening, expansion and systematization of volunteering actions in recent years, a period during which the Program has significantly evolved in terms of participation, geographical coverage and scope of activities. Through the targeted implementation of initiatives in the areas of environmental protection, social support and employee engagement, the Program aims, on the one hand, to provide meaningful support to the local communities where HELLENiQ ENERGY operates, and on the other, to enhance employee participation and strengthen their connection with the values of contribution and social responsibility, while fostering a stronger sense of belonging within the organization. |

HELLENiQ ENERGY’s Volunteering Program “Energy of Contribution” constitutes a comprehensive employee engagement platform, which in 2025 reached a significant milestone, surpassing for the first time 1,100 volunteers across 13 organized initiatives, confirming its momentum and the continuous expansion of participation across HELLENiQ ENERGY in Greece and abroad. Built on a long-standing tradition of volunteering, the Program integrates the purpose of contribution creating a cohesive framework through which employees actively contribute to improving the living conditions of vulnerable groups and protecting the environment in the areas where HELLENiQ ENERGY operates—Thriasio Plain, Western Thessaloniki and Kozani. At the same time, it substantially enhances the sense of pride and participation, fostering a strong culture of contribution. The active participation of employees in the Program is not limited to individual actions but reflects their tangible commitment to contributing to society and their connection with HELLENiQ ENERGY’s values. Through their participation, HELLENiQ ENERGY employees make a meaningful contribution to creating positive impact, while strengthening their connection to the company’s values and social role, as well as their sense of pride in the organization. “Energy of Contribution” is a structured program, developed through three main pillars, with a clear strategic direction and measurable social and environmental impact, aligned with HELLENiQ ENERGY’s overall ESG strategy. It continuously evolves through expanding participation, geographical outreach and the integration of new forms of volunteering. Environmental Action & Climate Awareness This pillar includes targeted actions for the protection, restoration and enhancement of the natural environment, with emphasis on the active participation of employees and local communities. Within this framework, beach clean-up actions are consistently implemented in areas adjacent to HELLENiQ ENERGY’s facilities, contributing substantially to reducing coastal pollution and raising environmental awareness. In 2025, more than 170 volunteers participated in parallel actions in Aspropyrgos and Kalohori, collecting over 1,500 kg of waste and 5,570 cigarette butts, under the guidance of the environmental initiative Save Your Hood. At the same time, the Program includes urban and environmental regeneration interventions, such as the creation of recreational parks covering a total area of 2,300 sq.m. in Attica and Thessaloniki (“Exploration Garden” and “Butterfly Garden”), with the participation of more than 150 volunteers. These projects incorporate principles of sustainability and biodiversity and are fully accessible, creating open spaces of high environmental and social value for local communities. Emphasis is also placed on reforestation and ecosystem restoration actions. Within the framework of the “Restoration and Reforestation Sponsorship” initiative, HELLENiQ ENERGY has contributed to the reforestation of more than 120 hectares of burnt forest areas, with over 5,176 trees planted in Penteli in 2025. In addition, more than 130 employee volunteers contributed to planting over 600 trees in a voluntary action in the fire-affected area of Pallini. Social Solidarity & Support of Vulnerable Groups This pillar focuses on the systematic support of vulnerable social groups and the strengthening of social structures in the areas where HELLENiQ ENERGY operates. Through targeted actions, employees actively participated in the preparation, portioning and distribution of meals in collaboration with local Holy Metropolises, contributing to supporting approximately 500 families, mainly during the Christmas and Easter periods. These voluntary actions also addressed additional needs for essential goods, with 15 tons of food provided to social structures in Western Attica, Western Thessaloniki and Kozani, which are supported on an ongoing basis through the Corporate Responsibility Program. At the same time, the Program includes actions aimed at improving living conditions and empowering vulnerable groups through interventions in accommodation and support structures. Indicatively, employees have participated in renovation and upgrading works in facilities such as the “Ramona” shelter of Doctors of the World, the “Irida” Women’s Center in Thessaloniki and the SEGE Women Empowerment Center, while in 2026 the “Athena” Center was established, further expanding the network of supported structures. These actions contribute substantially to improving the daily lives of beneficiaries and creating long-term social impact. Employee Engagement This pillar focuses on creating opportunities for mass employee participation in actions with social impact. A flagship initiative is “Run & Offer”, through which employees participate in running events in Athens and Thessaloniki, transforming participation into support for social organizations and enhancing the Program’s social impact. The year 2024 marked a milestone, as for the first time 35 employees from HELLENiQ ENERGY’s international operations participated, bringing total participation close to 340, forming a unified team and strengthening the Program’s international dimension. In the same year, the initiative was linked to supporting Make-A-Wish Greece, transforming employee participation into direct social impact. Through this collective effort, the wishes of three children from Western Attica, Thessaloniki and Kozani were fulfilled, further strengthening the Program’s connection with local communities where HELLENiQ ENERGY operates. Within this initiative, two special schools and educational structures for children with disabilities in the Municipality of Kordelio–Evosmos were also supported. In 2025, more than 350 employees participated in the Athens Authentic Marathon, marking the highest participation to date. The experience is further enhanced through initiatives such as the HELLENiQ ENERGY Running Station, located near the Panathenaic Stadium, which serves as a meeting point, fostering team spirit and strengthening participant engagement. This pillar also includes voluntary blood donation actions, which are implemented on a regular basis, strengthening HELLENiQ ENERGY’s blood bank and addressing critical healthcare needs. In 2025, eight blood donation drives were held with the participation of approximately 400 employees, fostering solidarity and a culture of contribution among colleagues. The implementation of the Program is based on a broad and multi-layered network of partnerships with public authorities, local government, the Church and civil society organizations, ensuring alignment with real social needs and the effectiveness of interventions. Through the continuous strengthening of participation and expansion to HELLENiQ ENERGY’s international subsidiaries, “Energy of Contribution” is evolving into a comprehensive human capital engagement program, creating meaningful and lasting value for society, the environment and HELLENiQ ENERGY itself. |
