|
HELLENiQ ENERGY, recognizing diversity and inclusion as key pillars of social cohesion within the framework of sustainable development, implements the integrated Program for the Promotion of Inclusion and Equal Opportunities “Energy In”, aiming to contribute to the creation of an equal opportunities’ environment and the meaningful empowerment of vulnerable social groups. The initiative responds to contemporary social challenges, such as inequalities in access to education and employment, gender-based discrimination and the social exclusion of people with disabilities, seeking to support their transition from assistance to smooth social and economic integration. The strategic objective of the Program is to develop a coherent and multi-level framework of actions that covers the entire pathway to inclusion, from protection and support to skills development, facilitating access to the labor market on equal terms, and promoting the autonomy of beneficiaries. Through targeted collaborations with institutional, social and local stakeholders, HELLENiQ ENERGY aims to shape a sustainable inclusion ecosystem that promotes equality, enhances the social mobility of vulnerable groups and contributes to the creation of more resilient and cohesive local communities. |

HELLENiQ ENERGY implements the multi-level “Energy In” Program, aiming to promote inclusion and contribute to the creation of equal opportunities, with a primary focus on empowering vulnerable women and supporting people with disabilities. The initiative addresses specific social challenges, such as gender inequalities, barriers to employment access and social exclusion, through a set of targeted interventions that strengthen beneficiaries’ autonomy and active inclusion, depending on their needs. The Program is structured around four main pillars: “Women’s Empowerment and Gender Equality”, “Inclusion of People with Disabilities and Independent Living”, “Skills Development and Professional Integration”, and “Awareness Raising and Fostering an Inclusive Culture”. Under the first pillar, focusing on the empowerment of vulnerable women, HELLENiQ ENERGY supports the creation and upgrading of structures that provide protection, education and professional empowerment to women facing multiple forms of exclusion. Indicatively, in collaboration with organizations such as Doctors of the World and the Hellenic Red Cross, HELLENiQ ENERGY contributed to the establishment, upgrading and strengthening of Empowerment and Protection Centers in Athens, the NGO Irida and the Irida Women’s Center in Thessaloniki, as well as a shelter for abused women in Komotini in cooperation with the Municipality of Komotini. These structures provide accommodation, psychosocial support and professional skills development services, with the capacity to support approximately 1,100 women. At the same time, in collaboration with the Greek Association of Women Entrepreneurs (SEGE), and through the support of the WEHub – Female Empowerment Hub, a modern training and professional guidance space was established in Thessaloniki, with the capacity to support more than 1,200 women annually. Under the second pillar, focusing on the inclusion of people with disabilities and the support of their independent living, HELLENiQ ENERGY develops initiatives that promote both autonomous and independent living, as well as their smooth integration into the labor market, with a direct impact on the personal empowerment of beneficiaries and support for their families. In this context, HELLENiQ ENERGY supported the establishment of the social café “POIKILI STOA” in Elefsina, a space where people with disabilities are trained and employed under real working conditions. At the same time, it supports the operation of the Supported Living Facility “DIMITRA”, the only one in the Thriassio area, which provides a sustainable long-term housing solution for people with disabilities and relieves families from the significant care gap in case of absence or loss. Furthermore, within the framework of inclusion and accessibility enhancement, HELLENiQ ENERGY has contributed to the development of recreational spaces for people with disabilities in municipalities adjacent to its facilities in Western Attica and Western Thessaloniki, including the creation of inclusive playgrounds. Under the “Skills Development and Professional Integration” pillar, HELLENiQ ENERGY implements training programs and workshops aimed at strengthening beneficiaries’ professional and digital skills. Indicatively, in collaboration with the Hellenic Red Cross, Doctors of the World, the Greek Association of Women Entrepreneurs and associations of people with disabilities, training programs in sewing, hairdressing and other fields are delivered, along with seminars on entrepreneurship, digital tools and job search, enabling participants to integrate smoothly and on equal terms into the labor market. It is also worth highlighting the support of an educational program implemented at the Elefsina Center of Love for more than 10 years, addressed to primary school children from vulnerable families. The program provides psychosocial education and development opportunities, equipping children with the necessary tools to grow both academically and socially. In addition, HELLENiQ ENERGY supports special schools in the areas where it operates, as well as associations of people with disabilities, by providing consumables and educational materials to address specific learning needs and support children’s development. The development of both soft and hard skills constitutes a key priority for HELLENiQ ENERGY and an essential tool for the professional and social integration of beneficiaries. In particular, for people with disabilities, opportunities for the development of social entrepreneurship within associations are also supported. The fourth pillar focuses on awareness raising and fostering an inclusive culture, including initiatives that promote inclusion and enhance social awareness around diversity and vulnerable social groups, with a particular emphasis on people with disabilities. HELLENiQ ENERGY, as a Gold Sponsor, supports the Hellenic Paralympic Committee in promoting the shared vision of advancing the Paralympic movement within Greek society. In this context, it implements the “Paralympic Panorama” events, which include awareness, education and experiential participation activities for students and citizens, contributing to the cultivation of a culture of equality, acceptance and active participation. Students, educators and citizens are introduced to Paralympic sports and leading Paralympic athletes, while also having the opportunity to participate in demonstration mini games. Through the combined implementation of the above pillars, HELLENiQ ENERGY’s “Energy In” Program establishes a coherent framework of actions with substantial and measurable social impact, strengthening access to equal opportunities and the active participation of beneficiaries in society. |

The implementation of the “Energy In” Program is based on a multi-layered network of partnerships with institutional, social and local stakeholders, ensuring the effectiveness, sustainability and meaningful social impact of its interventions. Within this framework, HELLENiQ ENERGY collaborates with local government, social welfare organizations and specialized entities, such as Doctors of the World, the Hellenic Red Cross, the NGO Irida and the Greek Association of Women Entrepreneurs (SEGE), for the implementation of initiatives related to the protection, education and professional empowerment of vulnerable women. At the same time, through partnerships with organizations active in the inclusion and social integration of people with disabilities, such as “Oloi Emeis Mazi” and local associations, including the Megara Association of People with Disabilities and associations operating in the Municipality of Delta, initiatives are supported that enhance independent living, skills development and their integration into the labor market. A key partnership is also established with the Hellenic Paralympic Committee, through which awareness-raising and equality-promoting initiatives are implemented, strengthening the dissemination of the values of inclusion, diversity and sport within society. In addition, the “Energy In” Program is developed in close cooperation with Local Government Authorities and public bodies, such as the Municipality of Elefsina, the Municipality of Ampelokipoi–Menemeni, the Municipality of Megara and the Municipality of Komotini, ensuring the mapping of local needs and the implementation of targeted interventions. Finally, an important role is played by the collaboration with the Holy Metropolis of Neapoli and Stavroupoli, within which training and empowerment programs for volunteers are implemented, strengthening social structures and the services provided to vulnerable groups. Through this expanded network of partnerships, HELLENiQ ENERGY acts as a catalyst for the development of a broader ecosystem that promotes inclusion, strengthening collaboration between the public and private sectors and civil society, while maximizing the social impact of its programs. |
