Green City- Recycling Programm | ||||
At PPC, Sustainable development is our strategic commitment, aligning seamlessly with the business model and the transformation needs of the company. This commitment creates a roadmap for transformation into a "Creating Shared Value" (CSV) model, placing at the forefront the recognition of the needs of stakeholders and society at large, thereby creating shared value among the Company, Society, and the Environment. Aiming to bring about positive changes in the broader ecosystem, PPC supports actions based on creative ideas and geared towards the common good. Through the PPC CSR program, our goal is to empower vulnerable social groups and contribute to environmental protection. We support the work of NGOs that share our vision for a better, sustainable future and actively participate in educational, sports, and cultural initiatives for all. One of the main goals of our recycling program "Green City" is to provide quality education to the new generation about the importance of recycling for the environment and ecological sustainability. |

The action is targeted at primary and secondary school students. |

The educational program started in 2022 and continues until today. |

THE GREEN CITY is an innovative idea that began in July 2021, with the primary goal of raising public awareness about recycling and providing practical rewards for it. Through THE GREEN CITY Recycling Program, participants have the opportunity to recycle and earn Green points based on the type and weight of the materials. These points can then be redeemed for special offers from businesses collaborating with the program. In addition, program educators visit schools to inform students about environmental issues. Through interactive discussions, students become familiar with recycling and understand its significance. They also receive training on the process of separating materials into 8 categories and how to place them in the corresponding bins. After the education session, students deliver their recyclable materials to a specialized recycling vehicle. The materials are weighed on the spot, and the accumulated points are credited to the school's account. These points can be redeemed through the Parents and Guardians Association, providing gift vouchers for the school. |

The strategic pillars of sustainable development at PPC include operating with a positive impact on nature and creating socio-economic shared value. In this context, education plays a crucial role by raising awareness about environmental issues and fostering an understanding of each individual's role in preserving the environment. Furthermore, education encourages sustainable behavior, contributing to waste reduction and resource conservation. Training focused on recycling also supports the adoption of circular economy practices, promoting the decrease in the need for new raw materials. In this way, education contributes to the implementation of PPC strategic goals for sustainable development and the promotion of ecological awareness. |
